I don't think so. I think everyone else except Ash got mind wiped. I'm not sure.
Ash will always remember Mewtwo since Ash made mewtwo understand the bonds between humans and pokemon. He risked his life and it caused sadness to both original and copies.

he does have his memory wiped at the end of the mewtwo movie, Cuz he sees mewtwo at the end from a far and doesnt know what/who it is.

he broke the sprinklers to beat brock, saved cerulean gym to get that badge, idr Lt surge's fight(think he won?) and in celedon he saved vileplume
Ash vs Lt. Surge = Ash won because of Pikachu's speed. Lt. Surge was just another dumb muscle head. Evolved his pikachu too fast, it didn't gain any speed.
So, Ash won with speed :/ mostly.

Ash always bonds with legends, yet he refuses to catch any of them. Although, he's hardly able to even beat a Darkrai, so i doubt he can weaken it to catch it and spam Pokeballs. (I'd love to see this in the anime)

If you think about it, in the anime it goes against nature to actually catch a legendary since most of them are directly tied to nature in unfathomable ways.
