Another idea. When you encounter a monster, could there be an icon (not anything eye-candy) that'd show if we've already caught it or now? Or you could add it to the creature's page in MonsterDex. I know there is such an icon next to the monster's name on the MonsterDex list of monsters, but when you click on the encountered monster, you're redirected to monster's page, not MonsterDex. (Hope you know what I mean.)

Ummm...
Are you suggesting that there should be an indication on the in-game battle screen next to wild monsters that you have already caught?
Because in the Monster Dex, the weird looking box thingy would be red indicating that that monster has been caught and the ones that are gray, were not caught.

or when in battle it could have a red box in the top right corner of the monster showing you have caught already

yes a question is never stupid unless a teacher explains it too you a second before you ask the question
