I'm going to go with Squall, because Squall starts out a cold emo that thinks friends are liabilities, but in the end he is a kind hearted swordsman who meets a pretty girl (pretty, not hot or cute, but rather realistic) and has great friends that he finally realizes care about him. in a lot of ways I relate to him, and I know where he comes from when he talks.

also, his mental talks with himself and regular facepalms are some of the funniest things i've ever seen.

So, Squall has to be my number one pick for good guys. if i was confined to bad guys, Kefta or Sephiroth, (sephiroth is a boss, but kefta actually blew up the earth, so yea :/)

Cloud is Squall with a bigger sword, lighter hair, and a much less happy ending lol. cloud =cliche

but still a solid choice nonetheless.
