Anyways, that’s the lowdown on this whole thing… but I still need to explain something right? Three stories… but the very first one will affect all the other ones. And that… is what you’ll be hearing today.

Prologue: The Story

"Gather around, children, and let me tell you a story about our world..." The old storyteller was perched on a mossy chunk of rock. He coughed once and continued. "This world's name is Maliagi... and it is said that if you sailed too far away... you would fall off the very edge into the inky blackness beyond. Few have tried to explore the very edge... they did not return. But let us think of happier things. Do you know how this land was created?" Many of the children sitting in a circle around him shook their heads. "No...? Let me tell you then." The storyteller smiled briefly.

"Maliagi was simply a large floating rock, devoid of water, life, and all these things you see today." He gestured to the ruins that were behind him, and continued. "But before there was a rock, there had to be something that created it. The god of balance, Zatalabe, created the land, out of the world that was from before. Out of the inky blackness flew our good god, the goddess of life, Viebares, who created the oceans, lakes, forests, everything you see. But she missed one thing. Brooding over that one thing that evaded her mind, Viebares perched on the very tallest tree on Maliagi, and watched the dawn. As she watched the sun rise, Viebares saw a black blot on the sun, and realized it was her brother, Mundiro, the deity and guardian of the dead." The storyteller coughed once, and glanced back. It was getting darker as the sun dropped below the horizon, and the shadows were creeping into the clearing. Looking back at the children around him, the old man continued.

"Mundiro was regarded as a grim character, dark, and brooding. But he, for now was amiable and willing to help. Seeing the lifeless land below him as he flew to his sister, Mundiro scoffed. 'Sister, haven't you forgotten? He who holds sway over the dead, also affects the living.' And with that, the guardian gestured with his head towards a section of the forest. Viebares glanced over, and saw many animals jumping around and heard the sound of birdsong. She realized something, and quickly glanced at her brother. He was now two baleful yellow eyes floating in a cloud of darkness. 'I hope you're happy sister... but never forget... they'll all return to me someday... but life and death always come hand in hand, and never separate...' They blinked once, and then disappeared."

"And that how our world started. Through the centuries, many things happened to change Maliagi, but this started it all..." The storyteller trailed off. He blinked, and then suddenly clapped his hands together, startling the children. "It's dark, kids... we should be going home now... Follow me." Taking the hand of the youngest child, the storyteller wound his way towards the small port city on the vast ocean, with lines of children following him.

Chapter One: A Game of Dustball

The racket of a game being played ran through the village. A cloud of dust had been kicked over, and in the cloud, shapes that looked a lot like kids ran around, shouting. They were all headed for one boy, who was smirking, holding a small red ball. The boy was covered in dust from head to toe, and he turned a bit to the side, taunting the other kids.

“Hey Aedan! Throw it here!” A small thin boy shouted at the boy, waving his hands.

“Nah, it’s not like they can, oh, I don’t know… tackle me?” Aedan cockily said, watching the other team of kids slowly inch closer. He tossed the ball up in the air once, and as the eyes of the other players followed it, caught it quickly, and charged straight through the wall the other team had been forming.

“Ack!” One of the girls shrieked as Aedan ran straight by, barreling through the team. They were all too surprised to catch him, and Aedan was long gone, headed for the other side of the village.

A cry went up. “Catch him! We gotta win this!” And then the opposing team changed direction and stomped after Aedan. The fastest ones ran ahead, hoping to catch up, but came up just short. Aedan was simply just too fast for them.

As Aedan ran, he saw a large rock loom into view. It was about three times his height, and was basically a large pedestal. The village leaders sometimes addressed them from there on festivals and parties. And… it was also the finish line for this game. Grinning with victory, Aedan held onto the red ball tighter, and then scaled the rock face. It was pretty easy, and he found a lot of handholds.

“Oh, there he is!” “Ugh! We’ll never catch him now!” “He’s probably going to win…” The groans of the players reached his ears as they got closer. Grinning, Aedan quickly climbed up the last few handholds and stopped. He turned around and stood up straight, holding the red ball up high.

“And with that, I win! Again!” He laughed madly, and tossed up the ball. Catching it deftly, Aedan hopped down the other side of the rock, which was more suited to old councilmen and storytellers, and strolled around to grin at the other children.

“Aedan… you have to tell us how you did it this time!” One of the younger kids eyed him with a degree of awe. Aedan reddened and patted the kid’s head.

“Well… it’s basically… luck, and skill. Try hopping around on those trees outside of the village and you’ll see.” He smiled as he said that.

“Oh, Aedan~” A light voice came from behind him, and Aedan whirled around to see a girl that was slightly older. She had light brown hair like him, and was only a head taller.

“Uh! Sis?!” Aedan goggled at his sister, surprised.

“Uh-huh. Who else?” She shook her head and made a tutting noise. “Why, when have you even started becoming scared of your own sister? Just now, hm?”

“Umm… Hazel? You’re… I mean, you just… like got behind me. No wonder I’m surprised.” Aedan pointed out.

“Fair point.” Hazel skipped on the spot and then a serious look took over her face. “Now that I’m here, I hear that our dear old storyteller’s been looking for you.”

“He’s not old! Ugh, c’mon, he’s only… like what, 30 years old? Honestly!” Aedan pouted at that, and then walked off, headed towards the ruins outside of his village. Back at the rock, Hazel giggled and ran off, a few of the kids following her, the rest scattering to find something else to do.

Chapter 6: Pidgeotto vs. Machoke, Feathers vs. Muscles!



The newly evolved Pidgeotto steps forward towards Machoke. "Enough of this," the man says, "Machoke, Rock Smash!" Machoke brings it's fist down fast, attempting to smash Pidgeotto like a pebble. Pidgeotto quickly avoids it and leaps into the air. He flies upwards then comes down fast, wings at the ready. He batters at the Machoke with his wings, pushing Machoke to it's knees. Evan pulls out his Pokedex. "What move was that?" he says as he checks. Wing Attack, a flying type move. The target is struck with large, imposing wings spread wide to inflict damage. "Wow," Evan says, "Guess he learned a new move when he evolved." "Of course," Mark says, "Most Pokemon do." Pidgeotto and Machoke begin battling it out, fists and wings flying. After a few minutes, Machoke brings it's knee up and knocks Pidgeotto out of his focus. "Heheh," the man says, "Now's your chance Machoke. Mega Punch!" Machoke brings it's fist up at Pidgeotto with all it's power. Pidgeotto sees this happening and reacts. He latches onto Machoke's fist and pushes, using Machoke's own power to fly higher. Pidgeotto reaches almost to the top of the ceiling, he turns downwards and folds his wings against his body. Lightning quick, he swoops in and stabs straight into Machoke's chest with his beak. Machoke falls to the ground, down but not out. "Ugh!" the man exclaims, "Machoke, you lazy oaf! Get up and use your Thunder Punch!"


Machoke nods and gets up with a groan. It prepares it's fist with lightning energy. It runs up to Pidgeotto and punches with all it's might. Pidgeotto, having thought he had won, doesn't expect this and is caught in the side of the head. He falls to the ground, paralyzed. "Finally!" The man says, "I'm gonna finish this thing off once and for all! Seismic Toss!" Machoke picks up the Paralyzed Pidgeotto and gets ready. Machoke crouches and builds up all it's power in it's legs, it leaps high into the air and flips upside down. It brings Pidgeotto down head first into the ground. Pidgeotto lies on the ground, close to fainting. "Pidgeotto!" Evan cries out as he pulls out his Pokeball, "I have to save him!" Mark puts his hand on Evan's arm. "Wait," he says, "Don't take him out yet!" Mark pulls out one of his own Pokeballs. "Chansey!" he says as he releases the Pokemon, "Use your egg to heal Pidgeotto!" Chansey pops out with a smile. She sees the injured Pidgeotto and her smile disappears. She pulls out her egg, cracks it, then proceeds to feed the contents to Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto gets up and thanks the Chansey with a bow. Mark returns Chansey to her ball. "Wow, thanks Mark!" Evan says. Mark nods and points at the field, "Focus on the battle, Evan. You almost have this won!" The man grins at the two of them. "So," he says, still grinning, "you think your chubby little Pokemon's egg will help you win? You're dreaming! Machoke, show them the strength of your Focus Punch!" Machoke crouches and charges it's power. "Now's your chance Evan!" Mark says. "Oh!" Evan says, "You're right! Pidgeotto, hit it with your Steel Wing!" Pidgeotto gets ready to attack and hardens his wing. Pidgeotto leaps up and flies straight at Machoke. "Machoke, now!" the man shouts. Machoke runs to the center of the field and brings it's fist up towards Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto does a little twirl and narrowly avoids the hit. He smashes directly into Machoke's face, finally fainting it. "Yeah!" Evan exclaims, "We Did it!" He returns Pidgeotto to his ball and walks up to the man. "Where'd Hart go?" He asks in an angry voice. The man returns Machoke to it's ball. "You're pretty good kid, you'll definitely get your Scizor back. The kid probably ran to the back arena, cause there's a door. Too bad it's broke, so he has nowhere to go. Good luck kid, I think you'd make a great Bandit!" The man gives a thumbs up to Evan, which Evan turns down. "I'd never be a thief like you guys," Evan says, "If I'm going to get a Pokemon, I want to get it fair and square, not steal it." Evan walks past him through the door.


The trio goes down a small hallway into what was supposed to be a large lobby of some sort. The tables and chairs had been moved to the sides, and an arena had been spray painted on the floor in the center of the room. Spotlights, stolen from a rock concert, lined the walls and shown bright white circles on the arena. They looked around and spotted Hart trying to open a door on the other side of the room. He rammed himself up against the door, which didn't even budge. Hart turns around and sees them. A look of disbelief spreads across his face. "How'd you get past Big Boss?" Hart asks them, "Nobody can beat him!" Mark smiles, "I guess we just did. Give Evan back his Scizor!" Hart looks at Mark, puzzled. "And who are you?" He asks. Mark pulls out his Pokeball. "I'm Mark, Jared's cousin and a new acquaintance of Evan's. I'm also the trainer who's going to beat you to a pulp if you don't give Evan back his Pokemon!" Hart laughs. "I'd just like to see that!" he says as he pulls out his Pokeballs, "My parents are rich. I only have the best Pokemon money can buy!" Evan then asks, "Wait, if your parents are so rich, and can buy you Pokemon, why would you go and steal Pokemon and join a gang?" Hart frowned, "Because," He says with his head turned low, "They don't care what I do. The first time I won a battle, they didn't care. First time I evolved a Pokemon, they still didn't care. So I'm not gonna care about them! I wanna be bad! I hope to one day own every strong Pokemon in the world, leaving nothing but weaklings for everyone. That's why I did this. Now, are you going to stand and ask questions, or are you going to battle?" Hart walks into the arena and stands at one end. "Let's do this, Mark." he says as he waits in the arena. Mark walks up and stands at the other end. "Let's." he says as he pulls out his Pokeball. "Gliscor, let's go!" He tosses his Pokeball and the Pokemon pops out. Hart pulls out his Pokeball. "Alright then, Golbat, attack!" He tosses his Pokeball and the bat quickly rushes at Gliscor, teeth bared. Gliscor blocks the strike with a quick swing of one of it's claws. "Gliscor, Poison Sting!" Gliscor nods and flies upwards. It turns downwards and fires a volley of stings down on Golbat. Golbat takes all the hits and shakes them off. "Hahah, you idiot!" Hart says, "Poison on a Poison type? I thought you were gonna be good! Golbat, use Supersonic!" Golbat turns it's head upwards and prepares to launch an attack. It suddenly shudders and falls a bit. "Wait, what happened?" Hart asks. Mark is the one laughing now, "It's called being poisoned. Gliscor's great at doing that. Now Gliscor, X Scissor!" Gliscor flies down to where Golbat is, claws crossed above it's head. It brings them down in an X shape, hitting Golbat directly and sending it to the ground. Golbat flaps it's wings weakly then faints.


Mark returns Gliscor to it's ball. "Good job, Gliscor." he says as he puts the ball away. "Wait a minute!" Hart shouts as he returns Golbat. "We're not done yet! Come on out Flareon!" He tosses his ball and Flareon pops out in a flurry of sparks. Mark pulls out a Pokeball. "So you have an Eevee-lution as well? I'll face you with my Umbreon!" He tosses his ball and Umbreon appears on the field. "Shall we then?" Mark asks. Hart nods with a look of determination on his face, "I'll go first, Flareon Flamethrower!" Flareon opens it's mouth and blasts a stream of fire at Umbreon. "Umbreon, counter with your Shadow Ball!" Umbreon launches it's own attack and the two blasts meet in an explosion of fire and darkness. "Urgh," Hart groans, "Flareon, Quick attack!" Flareon begins dashing at Umbreon. "Umbreon, you do the same!" Mark shouts as his Pokemon runs towards the foe.

He smashes directly into Machoke's face, finally fainting it. "Yeah!" Evan exclaims, "We Did it!" He returns Pidgeotto to his ball and walks up to the man. "Where'd Hart go?" He asks in an angry voice. The man returns Machoke to it's ball. "You're pretty good kid, you'll definitely get your Scizor back. The kid probably ran to the back arena, cause there's a door. Too bad it's broke, so he has nowhere to go. Good luck kid, I think you'd make a great Bandit!" The man gives a thumbs up to Evan, which Evan turns down. "I'd never be a thief like you guys," Evan says, "If I'm going to get a Pokemon, I want to get it fair and square, not steal it." Evan walks past him through the door.


The trio goes down a small hallway into what was supposed to be a large lobby of some sort. The tables and chairs had been moved to the sides, and an arena had been spray painted on the floor in the center of the room. Spotlights, stolen from a rock concert, lined the walls and shown bright white circles on the arena. They looked around and spotted Hart trying to open a door on the other side of the room. He rammed himself up against the door, which didn't even budge. Hart turns around and sees them. A look of disbelief spreads across his face. "How'd you get past Big Boss?" Hart asks them, "Nobody can beat him!" Mark smiles, "I guess we just did. Give Evan back his Scizor!" Hart looks at Mark, puzzled. "And who are you?" He asks. Mark pulls out his Pokeball. "I'm Mark, Jared's cousin and a new acquaintance of Evan's. I'm also the trainer who's going to beat you to a pulp if you don't give Evan back his Pokemon!" Hart laughs. "I'd just like to see that!" he says as he pulls out his Pokeballs, "My parents are rich. I only have the best Pokemon money can buy!" Evan then asks, "Wait, if your parents are so rich, and can buy you Pokemon, why would you go and steal Pokemon and join a gang?" Hart frowned, "Because," He says with his head turned low, "They don't care what I do. The first time I won a battle, they didn't care. First time I evolved a Pokemon, they still didn't care. So I'm not gonna care about them! I wanna be bad! I hope to one day own every strong Pokemon in the world, leaving nothing but weaklings for everyone. That's why I did this. Now, are you going to stand and ask questions, or are you going to battle?" Hart walks into the arena and stands at one end. "Let's do this, Mark." he says as he waits in the arena. Mark walks up and stands at the other end. "Let's." he says as he pulls out his Pokeball. "Gliscor, let's go!" He tosses his Pokeball and the Pokemon pops out. Hart pulls out his Pokeball. "Alright then, Golbat, attack!" He tosses his Pokeball and the bat quickly rushes at Gliscor, teeth bared. Gliscor blocks the strike with a quick swing of one of it's claws. "Gliscor, Poison Sting!" Gliscor nods and flies upwards. It turns downwards and fires a volley of stings down on Golbat. Golbat takes all the hits and shakes them off. "Hahah, you idiot!" Hart says, "Poison on a Poison type? I thought you were gonna be good! Golbat, use Supersonic!" Golbat turns it's head upwards and prepares to launch an attack. It suddenly shudders and falls a bit. "Wait, what happened?" Hart asks. Mark is the one laughing now, "It's called being poisoned. Gliscor's great at doing that. Now Gliscor, X Scissor!" Gliscor flies down to where Golbat is, claws crossed above it's head. It brings them down in an X shape, hitting Golbat directly and sending it to the ground. Golbat flaps it's wings weakly then faints.


Mark returns Gliscor to it's ball. "Good job, Gliscor." he says as he puts the ball away. "Wait a minute!" Hart shouts as he returns Golbat. "We're not done yet! Come on out Flareon!" He tosses his ball and Flareon pops out in a flurry of sparks. Mark pulls out a Pokeball. "So you have an Eevee-lution as well? I'll face you with my Umbreon!" He tosses his ball and Umbreon appears on the field. "Shall we then?" Mark asks. Hart nods with a look of determination on his face, "I'll go first, Flareon Flamethrower!" Flareon opens it's mouth and blasts a stream of fire at Umbreon. "Umbreon, counter with your Shadow Ball!" Umbreon launches it's own attack and the two blasts meet in an explosion of fire and darkness. "Urgh," Hart groans, "Flareon, Quick attack!" Flareon begins dashing at Umbreon. "Umbreon, you do the same!" Mark shouts as his Pokemon runs towards the foe.

Chapter 5: The Road To Victory...Or Defeat. (Part 2)

Evan follows Jared along the street to Jared's uncle's house. After a few minutes of walking, they near the outskirts of town. Jared takes a quick right and follows a small dirt road. The road leads them to a two-story house, in the shadow of a skyscraper. A woman is outside with a Roselia and Wartortle in a small garden. The Roselia plants seeds, which the Wartortle sprays with a bit of Water Gun. She stands up and waves to Jared. He opens the gate and goes in the yard. "Aunt Mary!" Jared shouts as he runs up to her. They hug and Jared introduces Evan. "This is my friend, Evan. He's from Renaville across the river. He's a Pokemon trainer like me!" Mary holds out her hand. "Nice to meet you Evan, I'm Jared's aunt, Mary. Welcome to our lovely little home." Evan takes her hand and shakes it, "Nice to meet you too. So what are your Pokemon doing?" He gestures towards the Wartortle and Roselia, who are still at work in the garden. "They're helping me plant vegetables in my garden." Mary says, then calls to them. "Shell, Rose, Come meet our new guest." The two Pokemon walk up and each give a little bow to Evan. Jared pulls out his Pokeballs. "Hey guys, remember Starly and Treeko?" Jared tosses his Pokeballs and the two come out.

Starly and Rose greet each other as good friends. Treeko and Shell stare each other in the eye for a second. "Uh oh..." Jared says. "What's going on?" Evan asks. Before Jared can answer, Shell uses Water Gun on Treeko. Treeko avoids it and uses Bullet Seed, which Shell stands and takes in the bottom of his shell. He laughs at Treeko, who gets angry and runs up to Shell. He begins pounding at his shell, which has zero to no affect on the turtle. Treeko hops back, panting from attempting to fight. Shell walks back to the house laughing. Treeko sits on the ground defeated. He utters a small sigh and hangs his head. "Why did Treeko fight your Wartortle like that, Mary?" Jared returns Treeko to his ball and says, "It's not her Wartortle, it's my cousin Mark's." Mary nods in agreement. "Treeko's angry because Shell evolved before he did, even though they hatched at the same time. They actually used to be best friends." Evan looks at the Pokeball in Jared's hand. "Well, that's too bad." Mary returns Rose to her ball, and Jared does the same with Starly. "Well boys, might there be a reason why you've stopped by?" she says as she picks up her gardening tools. "Actually there is," Jared says, "Me and Evan decided we're gonna set out on an adventure. He wants to get all the badges, and I wanna become the best coordinator. We were gonna come get supplies, but we ran into some trouble with some boy." Jared then tells his aunt the story of what happened. "Oh that's awful!" Mary says, "Let's go inside and tell your Uncle Max, he knows the Police Chief." They go up the path into the house to find Jared's uncle.

The house looked nothing like the outside portrayed. There were fabulous works of art everywhere in the house. As soon as you walk in, a huge mural of a field with Pokemon frolicking about can be seen. There were also sculptures on different tables around the house as well. While entering the living room, Evan sees a sculpture of two Bellsprouts holding up a Pokeball. The Pokeball seems so real Evan almost wants to touch it, just to see if it is. They enter the living room and the TV is on. A couch is placed in front of the TV, and a man is sitting on the couch next to Shell. "Max," Mary says, "Jared's here, and he brought a friend." The TV turns off and Max stands up, stretching his legs. "Jared!" he says as he hugs Jared, "How has my favorite nephew been?" Jared smiles and hugs him back, "I'm your only nephew, Uncle Max." Max laughs, "So you are. And who's your friend?" "That's my friend Evan, he's a trainer from Renaville." Max shakes Evan's hand. "Oh so you're from Renaville then? I suppose you know the Professor then?" Evan asks, "Yeah I do, he gave me my first Pokemon, Totodile." Evan takes out Totodile's ball and releases him. Totodile hops up and down, excitedly. Shell hops off the couch and sees the new water Pokemon. Shell smiles and pats Totodile on the shoulder, who returns the same gesture. "Wow," Evan says, "They became friends so quickly." "Of course," Max says, "They're both water Pokemon. They have a type connection. You ever hear the saying 'Birds of a feather, flock together'? Well, Pokemon of the same type generally hang out together. That's why trainers who stick to one type generally form a good bond with all their Pokemon." Max pets Totodile on the top of his head. "So what brings you boys out here? Going on a journey I suppose?" The boys reply, "Yeah. But we kinda need your help first. A mean guy named Hart stole Evan's Scizor after a trade, and we need you to tell the police so they can do something." Max places his hand on Evan's shoulder, "I'm sorry," he says apologetically, "There have been numerous accounts of Pokemon being stolen because of this biker gang that hangs out around Cyrem. They call themselves the Beedrill Bandits. That boy probably stole your Pokemon to get into the gang. I'm afraid that until they're caught, your Scizor is lost." Evan's heart sinks, "So there's nothing you can do?" he asks around the lump in his throat. Max nods slowly, "I'm afraid so." Evan wipes the tears in his eyes. "Do you know where they are?" Max looks at him puzzled, "Well, I think so. But I don't think you can do much." Evan pulls out his other Pokeball. "Me, Totodile, and Pidgey are gonna try at least. I want my Scizor back." Max smiles, "Well you have alot of spirit, and I hope you the best. Get in the car boys, I'll take you there." They all go out the door and get in the small car in the driveway. They head towards town, ready to battle.

Max takes them to what was supposed to be a skyscraper that never got finished. Halfway up the tower, a jumble of girders and pipes shows where the workers had stopped. Graffiti covered the outside walls. Mostly of Pokeballs and Beedrills. "This is the place." Max says as they get out of the car. "I wish you boys the best of luck. I hope you make it out safely. I'll try to get the police out here as soon as possible. Again, good luck boys." Max drives off, leaving them standing there by the road. Evan turns to Jared and asks, "Are you ready?" Jared nods and they walk into the building.
On the inside, the building is quite run down, with trash everywhere. There are bottles and wrappers piled up in the corners, and other assorted garbage on the floor. The lights are mostly flashlights strapped to the walls and flipped on. They look around and listen for voices. Evan turns his head and hears what sounds like a familiar voice. He points towards a door on the far side of the wall. "I think I hear Hart's voice in there." He says. They go towards the door, and a large man in a motorcycle jacket walks out with Hart at his side. Hart sees Evan and gets surprised. The tall man turns towards Hart, "These friends of yours?" he asks in a gruff voice. Hart shakes his head, "Nope," he says, "Just some losers who want to donate their Pokemon I guess." The man smacks him on the back and laughs. "Hahah, well, I think the gang could use some new Pokemon. Let's see what these boys got. Come on out Machoke!" He tosses his Pokeball and a Machoke pops out. It flexes it's huge muscles at the boys and punches into the ground. "Now, are you boys going to give up your Pokemon, or are you going to fight?" Evan pulls out his Pokeball. "I'm going to beat you!" he says, "Then I'm gonna get back my Scizor from Hart!" Hart holds up the Pokeball. "Sorry, he's mine now." He walks into the back room. Evan goes to follow him, when Machoke hops in front of him and blocks his path. "Where are you goin', son?" the tall man asks, "We still ain't had our battle!" Evan walks backwards slowly. "Alright then," he says, "Come on Pidgey!" he tosses his Pokeball and the little bird pops out and flaps it's wings. "That's more like it!" the man says, "Let's go!"
Pidgey flys up into the air, "Okay Pidgey, Gust!" Pidgey flaps it's wings quickly and air pushes at the Machoke. "You think that'll do anything?" the man says. "Machoke, show that thing your Karate Chop!" Machoke hops into the air and brings it's hand down onto Pidgey. Pidgey flips sideways and barely avoids the chop. "Pidgey, hit it with your Fury Attack!" Pidgey begins pecking repeatedly at Machoke, who blocks most of the shots. "Machoke Karate Chop now!" The man shouts at Machoke. It listens and swings a chop sideways at Pidgey. It connects with Pidgey's wing, which knocks it down to the ground. "Now Machoke," the man says, "finish that thing off with your Mega Punch." Machoke nods and pulls his fist back for a powerful punch.

Suddenly, as Machoke is getting ready to punch, a blast of water comes from the side and knocks it off balance. They all look towards the direction of the water and a boy is standing there. He has black straight hair that hangs over one eye, and standing next to him is a Wartortle. He's wearing a purple long sleeve shirt and black jeans. He smirks and says "Hey Jared, Dad told me you would be here, so me and Shell rushed over. Looks like we got here just in time." Jared smiles, "Mark!" he says, "I'm so glad you're here!" Mark walks up with Shell. "So, you decided to go up against the Beedrill Bandits, looks like you've got some guts, little cousin." Jared shakes his head, "I didn't. My friend Evan did." he points to Evan. "Oh?" Mark says, "Hello Evan, I'm Jared's cousin. You're the one with the Totodile, right?" Evan nods. The man interupts them. "Well now!" he says, "Is this gonna be three on one? That seems kinda unfair. To you! If you're looking for a fight, come on then!" he tosses out two more Pokeballs. A Raticate and a Houndour pop out. Mark walks up, "I suppose I can do it. How about you?" Evan and Jared nod. By this time, Pidgey has gotten up and walks over to where the boys are standing. Jared pulls out his Pokeball and sends out Treeko. Now the boy and their Pokemon are facing the man and his. "Alright then, Raticate, Houndour, Quick Attack! Machoke, get that bird with your Body Slam!" The boys all call out to their Pokemon. "Shell, Water Gun on Houndour!" "Treeko, Bullet Seed!" "Pidgey, Steel Wing!" The six Pokemon meet in the center of the room in a clash of power. Treeko and Raticate quickly begin battling it out. Shell sends the Houndour back in a rush of water, and Pidgey's wing knocks Machoke to the ground. Machoke pops up and gives a quick kick to Pidgey, who hops up and counters with a Gust, knocking Machoke back down. Raticate begins biting at Treeko who blocks all the attacks with swings from his tail. Wartortle blasts the Houndour with water, dousing any flame it's attempting to make. It finally attempts to bite Shell, and finds it's teeth clamped on hard turtle shell. Shell does one more Water Gun, fainting the little dog. "Good job Shell!" Mark says as he returns his Pokemon. The man simply returns his Houndour without a word. Now Treeko has been pounding at Raticate, slowly diminishing it's health. "Now Treeko, finish it with your Bullet Seed!" Treeko sends a stream of seeds at the Raticate, all of which connect with it. It faints on the ground, defeated. Jared returns his Pokemon, as does the man. Now, it's just Pidgey and Machoke battling it out. "Pidgey, use Gust, then hit it with Fury Attack!" Pidgey launches a gust of wind at Machoke, who simply crosses it's arms and stands against the wind. Pidgey swoops down to launch a Fury Attack. "You think that will work?" the man asks with a laugh, "Machoke, Thunder Punch!" Before Evan can tell Pidgey to change course, his beak connects with it's electrically charged fist, sending him flying backwards, paralyzed. "Oh no!" Evan says, "Pidgey, get up! You can do it!" Pidgey attempts to get up and is brought back down by it's paralysis. "Sorry son," the man says with fake sympathy, "That bird of your's is done for! Now Machoke, take it out with your Mega Punch." Machoke walks over and gets ready to finish off Pidgey. As it's walking over, Pidgey suddenly begins to glow. "Whoa!" Evan say in surprise, "What's going on?" Mark tells him, "Pidgey's evolving into Pidgeotto now. Looks like you've trained it well to have it evolve so quickly." They watch as, instead of Pidgey, Pidgeotto stands up with a flourish of it's feathers. It faces the surprised Machoke. "Well now," the man says, "Ain't that somethin'? Too bad it won't help ya much. Machoke, let's finish that thing with your ultimate Two Punch Thunder Strike!" The Machoke's fists become charged up as it makes it's way towards Pidgeotto.

It connects with Pidgey's wing, which knocks it down to the ground. "Now Machoke," the man says, "finish that thing off with your Mega Punch." Machoke nods and pulls his fist back for a powerful punch.

Suddenly, as Machoke is getting ready to punch, a blast of water comes from the side and knocks it off balance. They all look towards the direction of the water and a boy is standing there. He has black straight hair that hangs over one eye, and standing next to him is a Wartortle. He's wearing a purple long sleeve shirt and black jeans. He smirks and says "Hey Jared, Dad told me you would be here, so me and Shell rushed over. Looks like we got here just in time." Jared smiles, "Mark!" he says, "I'm so glad you're here!" Mark walks up with Shell. "So, you decided to go up against the Beedrill Bandits, looks like you've got some guts, little cousin." Jared shakes his head, "I didn't. My friend Evan did." he points to Evan. "Oh?" Mark says, "Hello Evan, I'm Jared's cousin. You're the one with the Totodile, right?" Evan nods. The man interupts them. "Well now!" he says, "Is this gonna be three on one? That seems kinda unfair. To you! If you're looking for a fight, come on then!" he tosses out two more Pokeballs. A Raticate and a Houndour pop out. Mark walks up, "I suppose I can do it. How about you?" Evan and Jared nod. By this time, Pidgey has gotten up and walks over to where the boys are standing. Jared pulls out his Pokeball and sends out Treeko. Now the boy and their Pokemon are facing the man and his. "Alright then, Raticate, Houndour, Quick Attack! Machoke, get that bird with your Body Slam!" The boys all call out to their Pokemon. "Shell, Water Gun on Houndour!" "Treeko, Bullet Seed!" "Pidgey, Steel Wing!" The six Pokemon meet in the center of the room in a clash of power. Treeko and Raticate quickly begin battling it out. Shell sends the Houndour back in a rush of water, and Pidgey's wing knocks Machoke to the ground. Machoke pops up and gives a quick kick to Pidgey, who hops up and counters with a Gust, knocking Machoke back down. Raticate begins biting at Treeko who blocks all the attacks with swings from his tail. Wartortle blasts the Houndour with water, dousing any flame it's attempting to make. It finally attempts to bite Shell, and finds it's teeth clamped on hard turtle shell. Shell does one more Water Gun, fainting the little dog. "Good job Shell!" Mark says as he returns his Pokemon. The man simply returns his Houndour without a word. Now Treeko has been pounding at Raticate, slowly diminishing it's health. "Now Treeko, finish it with your Bullet Seed!" Treeko sends a stream of seeds at the Raticate, all of which connect with it. It faints on the ground, defeated. Jared returns his Pokemon, as does the man. Now, it's just Pidgey and Machoke battling it out. "Pidgey, use Gust, then hit it with Fury Attack!" Pidgey launches a gust of wind at Machoke, who simply crosses it's arms and stands against the wind. Pidgey swoops down to launch a Fury Attack. "You think that will work?" the man asks with a laugh, "Machoke, Thunder Punch!" Before Evan can tell Pidgey to change course, his beak connects with it's electrically charged fist, sending him flying backwards, paralyzed. "Oh no!" Evan says, "Pidgey, get up! You can do it!" Pidgey attempts to get up and is brought back down by it's paralysis. "Sorry son," the man says with fake sympathy, "That bird of your's is done for! Now Machoke, take it out with your Mega Punch." Machoke walks over and gets ready to finish off Pidgey. As it's walking over, Pidgey suddenly begins to glow. "Whoa!" Evan say in surprise, "What's going on?" Mark tells him, "Pidgey's evolving into Pidgeotto now. Looks like you've trained it well to have it evolve so quickly." They watch as, instead of Pidgey, Pidgeotto stands up with a flourish of it's feathers. It faces the surprised Machoke. "Well now," the man says, "Ain't that somethin'? Too bad it won't help ya much. Machoke, let's finish that thing with your ultimate Two Punch Thunder Strike!" The Machoke's fists become charged up as it makes it's way towards Pidgeotto.

Chapter 4: The Road To Victory...or Defeat. (Part 1)


Evan woke up feeling energetic and ready for adventure the next morning. He checked his watch and saw it was only 5:30. He puts on some clothes and heads outside. He walks downstairs and sees Nurse Joy sitting at the counter. He gives her a little wave, which she returns with a smile. He walks outside and feels a distinct difference from the warmth inside to the cold outside. He looks around and notices how few people are out and about in the mornings. He checks his pockets and sees he has P500. He thinks for a moment and heads towards the center of town because he had seen a few shops that might have something worth buying.

Evan was strolling the streets, looking at all the manificent buildings and shops. He stopped in at a small shop which the sign simply read "Merchandise". He walked in and soon realized that this shop didn't make much money. Most of the products were rather old or covered in dust, and the shelves were all hand made. He placed his hand on one and pushed down, feeling a little too much weakness. He walked up to the counter and saw a bell with a sign that said "ring for service" he tapped it and heard something inside clink, but no ring could be heard. A man with a beard and dirty clothes came through a curtain behind the counter. He smiled at Evan, revealing a set of white teeth which seemed to argue with the rest of the man's appearance. He opened his mouth and spoke. "Hello young man," he said in a voice which sounded as if it belonged in a choir, "Welcome to my lovely little shop. Are you looking for anything in particular?" Evan hesitated then asked, "Umm, do you have any Pokeballs?" The man shook his head. "Sorry my boy, I'm afraid we're all out. A young man came in the other day and bought all the Pokeballs we had. Boy, he was rich. He spent more in one day than I make in a week. He sure had some weird hair though. Bright green and grown so long he could've tripped on it. Kids these days sure dress strangely. Anyway, We're out. If you come back in a few days, we'll have more ordered." Evan thanked him for his time and walked out the door.

Evan was walking along the street, wondering what he could do with his money. He checked his watch and saw that it was 6:30 now. He decided to head back to the Pokecenter and wake Jared up. On his way back, he saw a kid sitting with his Kadabra. He saw that the boy had long green hair down to his waist. He walked over to the young man and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Evan. You must be a trainer." The boy turned and looked at Evan. "Hello. I'm Hart. I am indeed a trainer. Are you as well?" Evan showed Hart his Pokeballs. "Yeah, I am. I've only got three Pokemon right now. A Totodile, Scyther, and Pidgey." Hart's eyes widened when he heard Evan say Scyther. "You have a Scyther? Would you like it to be a Scizor instead?" "Sure!" Evan replied with excitement, "How are you gonna do that though?" Hart reached into his pocket and pulled out a small jar. "Inside this jar is some metal coat. If you put it on Scyther and trade it to someone, it'll evolve." Evan looked at his Pokeball. "But I don't want to give you Scyther." Hart sighed, "Well, I want to trade with you to evolve my Kadabra. I've had this Kadabra since I was a little kid. So don't worry I'll give it back." Evan thought for a moment. "Alright then," he said, "I guess I'm cool with that." They walk to the Pokecenter and go inside. Evan stops Hart for a moment. "Hold on," he says, "I need to go wake up my friend. He's sleeping upstairs." Hart nods and points to a door on the other wall. "I'll be in there." Evan runs upstairs and goes into the room. He walks over to Jared's bed and shakes him awake. "Jared, Jared!" he says. Jared sits up and rubs his eyes. "What?" he asks groggily. Evan tells him about meeting Hart. Jared gets up and quickly gets dressed. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go!" They run downstairs to the lobby and through the door.

When they get into the room, they see a big machine and two chairs. Hart is currently sitting in one of the chairs. "There you are Evan." he says, "This is a trading machine. Sit down and I'll show you how to use it." Evan sits down at the other chair. The panel in front of him has a small indent in it, a screen, and a few buttons. Hart tells him to first release Scyther. Scyther pops out of his Pokeball and stands there. Hart walks up with the steel coat. "Now," he says as he opens the jar, "We need to rub this on scyther to make it work." They each take a bit in their hands and rub it on Scyther. After they finish coating Scyther head to toe, Evan returns him to his ball. "Okay," Hart says, "Now take the ball and put it in the little hole on the panel." Evan walks over and sits down. He puts the ball in, and the panel lights up. The screen turns on and an image of Scyther pops up. "Good, now I put in Kadabra." Hart puts his Pokeball in and Kadabra pops up next to Scyther. "Now," He says, "Press the second button to select Kadabra." Evan pushes the button and Kadabra is highlighted. Hart presses his button and Scyther is no longer on Evan's screen. A message on the screen reads "are you sure?" Hart presses the yes button. Evan hesitates. "I don't know if I wanna do this." he says. "Why not?" Hart asks him. "Well," Evan tells him, "I'm just worried something might happen..." Hart laughs. "Don't worry Evan, nothing's gonna happen. People all over the world trade Pokemon." Evan thinks for a moment. "Alright." he says. He presses the button, and Scyther's Pokeball sinks into the panel and disappears.

"Whoa!" Evan says, "What just happened?" Hart points to a series of wires above the machine. "If you look up there, you might see a little light moving away from your side. That's Scyther." Evan watched and saw that what Hart said was true. He saw the little light making it's way through the series of wires. The light finally goes into Hart's panel. Evan saw that a little light also went into his panel. He looked and saw that a Pokeball appeared where Scyther's was. On the screen, there was an image of Kadabra. Kadabra started glowing, and then he started changing. Evan watched as Kadabra evolved into an Alakazam. "Wow," Evan said, "It evolved!" He walked over to Hart's side. He looked at the screen and saw that Scyther had also evolved into Scizor. "Amazing! This things so cool!" Hart opened the panel and took Scizor's ball out. "Well well well, that was actually pretty cool." He laughed and looked at Evan. "Thanks for the Scizor. Hope you like your new Alakazam!" Evan lost his smile. "Wait, What are you talking about? Aren't you giving him back?" Hart put the ball in his pocket. "You wish. I only said all that so I could get my own Scizor. That Kadabra is just something I wasted a few Pokeballs on yesterday. I thought about finding some loser to trade with and maybe evolve it. Then you came along with your Scyther. Thanks Evan, you're so nice." He walked out laughing. "Hey! Give him back!" Evan yelled as he picked up Alakazam's ball and chased after him, with Jared close behind. They ran out the door and saw a hint of Hart's hair as he disappeared into the crowd. "Oh no..." Evan said, "I lost Scizor...How am I gonna get him back?" Tear's began to well up in his eyes. Jared put his hand on his friend's shoulder. "Don't worry buddy, We'll find him! It can't be that hard with his hair like that. Let's just go get some supplies first, then we'll go to the police or something." Evan took off his glasses and wiped his eyes. "Okay," he said, "I hope that he doesn't trade Scizor off. I'm gonna kill that guy!!" Jared and Evan began walking toward's Jared's uncle's. Evan looked back at where Hart had ran. Don't worry Scizor, he thought, I'll get you back.

Entering Little Forest Ryan said to Charmander and Riolu.
"Man I wish I knew what that Bird was called. It represents the Rainbow I guess..."
"Char..." Charmander mumbled and saw two pokemons.
"Hey pokemons!" Ryan yelled. "Charmander Inferno!"
Caterpie fainted while Shedinja used Shadow Ball.
"Riolu quick attack! Charmander Flamethrower behind!" Ryan yelled the moves.
Shedinja just stood there when Riolu used Quick Attack, but Shedinja fainted by Flamethrower.
"Go Great Ball!" Ryan said throwing the Poke Ball.
(You know what happens all ready so..)
"Great, I just caught a Shedinja!" Ryan yelled with a big smile.
Ryan checked it in the Pokedex.
Shedinja the Quick pokemon. It has a ability called Wonder Guard.
Wonder Guard is a ability that only the user may only get hit by super effective.
"This poke-" Ryan said and stopped for a bit.
"Well you caught a Shedinja." A kid said clapping."The names Waterslayer, Water for short."
"Want to battle or what?" Ryan said. "Deal with it."
He showed his face. "Sure, go Totodile!" Water said laughing.
"Go Riolu!" Ryan called. "Force Palm."
"Totodile Hydro Pump!" Water yelled.
"Dodge then aim for a right timing Riolu." Ryan yelled so Riolu could hear.
Riolu didn't have a chance so did his own move Dig.
"Ahhh..." Water said. "Totodile wet the ground."
Totodile wet the ground and Riolu couldn't get out because he was stuck in the mud.
Suddenly Riolu evolve to Lucario. "I surrender" said Water. "Please let us travel with you."
"Sure." Ryan said happily to see a Lucario.
"Charmander, Shedinja come out and see our old friend Riolu." Ryan happily said.
Charmander and Shedinja played with Lucario while Ryan talked with Water.
"You got 3 rare pokemon." Water said. "Charmander is a starter , Riolu is a rare pokemon in the wild, and Shedinja can only be seen in morning and
is rare."

Waking up in the morning my mom made me a perfect good breakfast.
"Thanks for the food mom" Ryan said.
"No worry, just eat," Mom said with a smile. "Professor told you to meet him in the lab."
"Ok, but whats in this ball?" Ryan asked politely.
"I don't know..." Mom said
"Guess Ill just open it." Ryan said lazy.
As Ryan opened it a Charmander appeared with a smile.
"Whoo Whoo!" Ryan yelled.
"Haa! What is this thing? Its gonna burn the house down ha!" Mom screamed as she ran downstairs.
"No ma, its a pokemon called Chamander." Ryan said laughing all the way to downstairs.
"Well what ever that is needs to be careful," Mom said. "Also get going to the lab."
Ryan got ready and left for the lab. "Surprised to see you here Ryan." Said Professor Jet.
"Good Morning Professor, and Thanks for the Charmander." Fire said happily.
"You Welcome, and I told you to come here to pick up your pokedex and poke balls," Professor said.
"You will need potions and other pokemon stuff like pokemon food etc."

"Thanks for all these things bye!" Ryan yelled waving bye-bye.
Ryan went and told his mom and left for the journey.
Going to Little Twinkle Ryan met up with a kid called Dark.

"Hey kid lets battle!" A kid said. "Ima test my pokemon"
"As you wish." Ryan said.
"Go Riolu!" Dark said. "Use Metal Claw!"

"Go Charmander, and use Ember while dodging" Ryan yelled his attack.
Riolu and Chamander got hit by each move.
"Whats the matter Riolu?" Dark said like a cowboy.
"Ember again!" Ryan demanded."Aim closely with the fire."
"Force Palm!" Dark said quickly.
"No chance, Inferno Charmander!" Ryan quickly said.
Charmander did Inferno and Riolu got burned and fainted.
"Useless Riolu" Dark said. He released it when it was returned to his poke ball.
Ryan caught it with his ultra ball and send it out.
"You and I are gonna travel together forever!" Ryan said happily.
Charmander and Riolu jumped and cheered happily.
As they went to Little Twinkle they met a Girl called Crystal.
"Go Sealeo, and use Ice Beam" Crystal called.
"Riolu Force Palm, Charmander Ember!" Ryan demanded quickly.
Charmander used a Flamethrower instead of Ember.
Flamethrower melted the Ice Beam and hit Sealeo and Riolu made Sealeo fainted.

"Ahhh.... Why?!?" Crystal yelled and ran to the pokemon center.
"Nice Job Charmander and Riolu!" Ryan went and hugged them.
Ryan finally arrived at Little Twinkle and went to the pokemon center and went shopping for stuff that was needed.
"So I need Pokemon Food, Poke Balls and 3 lunches please." Ryan told the shopping people.
"That will be 9,320 gold please." they replied.
"Ok." Ryan said.
As they got out they trained and saw a rainbow and a Ho-ho was right in the middle.
"Whoa, whats that pokemon?" Ryan said and reached for his Pokedex.
Unknown the Pokedex said.

Waking up in the morning my mom made me a perfect good breakfast.
"Thanks for the food mom" Ryan said.
"No worry, just eat," Mom said with a smile. "Professor told you to meet him in the lab."
"Ok, but whats in this ball?" Ryan asked politely.
"I don't know..." Mom said
"Guess Ill just open it." Ryan said lazy.
As Ryan opened it a Charmander appeared with a smile.
"Whoo Whoo!" Ryan yelled.
"Haa! What is this thing? Its gonna burn the house down ha!" Mom screamed as she ran downstairs.
"No ma, its a pokemon called Chamander." Ryan said laughing all the way to downstairs.
"Well what ever that is needs to be careful," Mom said. "Also get going to the lab."
Ryan got ready and left for the lab. "Surprised to see you here Ryan." Said Professor Jet.
"Good Morning Professor, and Thanks for the Charmander." Fire said happily.
"You Welcome, and I told you to come here to pick up your pokedex and poke balls," Professor said.
"You will need potions and other pokemon stuff like pokemon food etc."

"Thanks for all these things bye!" Ryan yelled waving bye-bye.

Chapter 3: Evan's First Gym, Neimi The Fire Queen!
The ferry comes to a stop at the Cyrem Docks and a flock of people come out, glad to stretch their legs after a long trip. Evan and Jared are making their way off, when a pair of hands land on their shoulders. The boys turn around to see who stopped them. They see it's the captain, who gives them a pleasant smile. "Hello boys," he says, "I'm going to keep my promise, so allow me to take you to the Cyrem Cafe." Evan and Jared nod. "Okay!" they say together. The trio walks off towards the city, ready to have a wonderful time.

After a few minutes of walking, they stop outside a brightly lit green building. The inside seems to be bustling with lots of people, and to the right is a lovely deck where people can have their food in the fresh air. They go onto the deck and sit at a table next to the building. A waitress walks up to them with some menus. "Good afternoon," she says with a smile as she sets the menus in front of them. "I'm your waitress Caroline. I'm happy to serve you today. Can I get start you off with some drinks?" They all ask for water and she walks off. Evan watches the street as people are passing by. He notices an artist with his Smeargle painting a picture of a couple across the street. He sees people looking through the windows to the shops, and some of them going in. He is admiring the beauty of the city when he hears Jared behind him. "...do next?" Evan turns towards Jared. "Sorry, what?" he asks. Jared replies, "I said 'What are you going to do next?' you should really pay more attention to people." "Sorry Jared," Evan apologizes, "I haven't been across the river before, so I'm kinda checking out the city. As for what I'm doing next, I'm probably gonna go challenge Neimi after lunch." Evan looks down at his menu. "Hmm, cheeseburger and a milkshake sounds delicious." Jared nods in agreement, "I'll have one too." The captain sets down his menu. "I guess that makes three of us, huh?" The waitress returns and they order their food. She promises to be back in 10 minutes and she takes their menus back inside.

After lunch Evan and Jared thank the captain for the meal and head to a PokeCenter to heal their Pokemon. They finally find it nestled between two different shops. Evan goes inside and talks to Nurse Joy. "Hello," he says, "I need my Pokemon healed." he sets his Pokeballs on the counter. "Me too please." Jared says as he sets his down too. The nurse takes them and says they'll be fully healed in a few minutes. "Hey Jared," Evan says, "I'm gonna go to the Pokemart, I need to get potions and stuff for the gym battle." "Okay," Jared replies, "I'll stay here with the Pokemon." Evan walks out and heads next door. When the automatic door to the Mart opens, music and bright fluorescent lights beckon him inside. He walks up to the counter and talks to the clerk. "Hi," he says politely, "I'm a trainer, and I was wondering if I could get some potions and revives, if you have them." The clerk turns towards the shelf behind him. "Certainly young man," he says, "Are you planning on challenging Neimi? She hasn't been beaten in 3 years, you know." Evan's heart sinks a bit. Three years, he thinks, do I even stand a chance? "No, I didn't know that," he says to the clerk, "thanks for telling me though. I'm gonna try my best." The clerk turns around with a bag full of potions and revives. "Well, I wish you the best of luck. That will be P2500" Evan pays the clerk and heads out.

He gets back to the Pokemon center and sees Jared feeding snacks to the Pokemon. He holds up the bag. "All set," he says, "Are you gonna watch me battle?" Jared gets up and puts the last snacks in his bag. "Sure I will," he says, "What kinda friend wouldn't? I wanna see you kick her butt!" Evan looks down at his feet. "Well," Evan says, "I might not be able to...she hasn't been beaten in three years..." Jared's jaw drops. "THREE YEARS!?!?!" He exclaims, "Er...I mean, you've got this, don't worry!" The boys return their Pokemon to their balls and head off towards the gym. When they arrive, they see that the gym has been built in the shape of a volcano, complete with a lava hologram spurting out the top. They walk in and are instantly surprised by the heat inside. A man, cooling himself off with a fan, is sitting on a bench inside. "Hello boys," he says, "I'm the Gym Guide. I'm here to give you some helpful hints. Which of you will be competing today?" Jared points at Evan. "Okay then, and what's your name?" the guide asks. "My name's Evan, sir. Can you tell me why it's so hot in here?" The guide shakes Evan's hand. "Pleasure to meet you Evan." he says, "As for the heat in here, well Neimi is the Fire Queen, and she likes her environment to suit her Pokemon. If you wanna beat her, I suggest a water type." Evan holds up his custom Pokeball. "I have a Totodile, but he only knows Water Gun, which isn't that strong a move..." The guide pulls out a strange looking disc. "Not to worry, my boy." he says, "This here is a technical machine, or TM for short. If you use this on your Pokemon it instantly learns the move that's downloaded on the disc. This one contains Aqua Tail. It's a vicious physical water attack, perfect for taking down Neimi. I'll use it on your Totodile and you'll be all set." Evan grins in excitement. "Really? Cool!" he sends out Totodile. The guide crouches down next to Totodile with the disc in hand. "Now watch this." he says. He takes the disc and places it to Totodile's head. The disc glows and begins pulsating with a bright white light. After a few seconds, it finally stops and takes on it's simple blue color again. The guide stands up and puts the disc in his pocket. "Now tell Totodile to use Aqua Tail, and he'll know it." Evan returns Totodile. "Wow, thanks." he says, "I can't wait to use it." They begin walking into the inner room. "Good luck!" the guide shouts behind them as he sits back down and cools himself off.

The boys enter the inner room and see that it's a big rock in the center, surrounded by a river of lava. They cross the wooden bridge to the center rock. The boys reach the rock and look around. "Maybe she's not here?" Jared suggests. Just as he's saying this, A girl in a red top and skirt hops down from somewhere above and lands gracefully in front of them. She had long red hair that flowed down her back and her body was wrapped in a pink scarf. Her eyes were a cool blue that seemed to gaze into your very thoughts. "Which of you have come to challenge me?" she says. Evan steps forward. "I have." he says calmly. "I'm Evan from Renaville, and I'd like to face you in a Pokemon battle." She smiles at him from behind her scarf. "You seem a bit too young, but alright. I accept." Evan exclaims, "I'm not young! I'm fifteen years old!" She giggles lightly. "That seems young to start on your own adventure. Shall we begin the battle, I hope you have at least three Pokemon, or this conversations over." Evan holds up his Pokeballs." Yeah, I do! So let's go!" "Alright," she says, "Prepare to battle." she hops back to her designated area. Evan walks over to his and gets his Pokemon at the ready. "This shall be a single battle," she says, "You may switch Pokemon any time you like, but should all of your Pokemon be unable to battle, you lose. I hope you're ready." Evan nods. "Yeah," he says, "I'm ready as I'll ever be." She nods as well. "I like your spirit...Begin!"

She tosses out her Koffing, which pops out of it's ball and spouts a bit of gas. "Alright then," Evan says, "Go Pidgey!" he tosses his Pidgey's ball out. Pidgey flies up into the air and screeches at the Koffing. "Koffing," Neimi shouts, "Use smokescreen on that Pidgey!" The Koffing releases a thick cloud of smog, which covers the battle field. "Pidgey," Evan commands, "Use Gust and clear the smoke, then hit it with Steel Wing!" Pidgey flaps it's wings strongly a few times and clears the smoke. Once Koffing's location was revealed, Pidgey swoops in and smashes it with Steel Wing. The Koffing falls to the ground, fainted. "That was kind of easy Neimi." Evan comments. Neimi tosses out her Charmander next. "I'm just getting warmed up! Charmander, Metal Claw!" The Charmander rushes at Pidgey and leaps into the air. "Dodge it!" Evan shouts, but it's too late. The Charmander managed to connect with Pidgey's wing, sending it spiraling to the stage. Pidgey hops up, dazed but otherwise okay. It faces the Charmander and flaps it's wings, sending dust into it's opponent's eyes. Pidgey leaps at the Charmander, beak at the ready. "Charmander, Ember straight ahead!" Neimi says. Charmander, still blinded, launches an ember forward, giving Pidgey a severe burning and causing it to faint. "Oh no!" Evan says as he returns Pidgey to his ball. "You did good buddy. Now it's your turn Totodile, come on out!" He tosses his Pokeball onto the field. Neimi smirks. "I was waiting for that. Come at me then!" Totodile bares it's teeth at Charmander. "Totodile!" Evan says, "Use Water Gun!" Totodile launches a torrent of water at the Charmander, dousing it's flames and fainting it. Neimi returns it. "Excellent, you're doing better than expected." she says, "Now, let's see you handle my Growlithe!" She tosses the Pokeball and a cute dog pops out and barks at Totodile. "Growlithe, use Quick Attack!" The Growlithe dashes at Totodile, who jumps back and looks for where it's going to come from. "Totodile, hop up and use Water Gun below you!" Totodile leaps into the air and blasts water downwards. The Growlithe dashes directly into the spray and hops back. "Okay then," Neimi says, "You asked for it now! Growlithe, Wild Charge!" Growlithe's body becomes covered in electricity as it rushes at Totodile. "Oh whoa!"Evan exclaims, "Totodile, use Aqua Tail!" Totodile's tail becomes a wave of water as he brings it back and swings it full force at the incoming Growlithe. The two Pokemon connect in a huge cloud of steam. After a few seconds, the steam clears and Totodile stands triumphantly over his opponent. "Whoohoo!" Evan shouts, "We did it!" Evan runs up to Totodile, who falls the floor paralyzed. "Hold on buddy." Evan says as he returns Totodile to his ball. Evan walks up to Neimi with a grin on his face. "I guess I won, huh?" She shakes her head in disbelief. "I suppose you did. Congratulations on your victory Evan, I reward you with the Burst Badge." She hands over a little badge, which Evan takes and shows to Jared. The badge is an orange circle with red spikes coming out of it. "Check it out Jared," he says to his friend, " I got my first badge!" Jared claps him on the back. "I knew you could do it, didn't doubt you for a second." The boys walk out of the gym and head back to the Pokecenter.

They show up at the Pokecenter and use the phone to call Professor Oak. When the Proffesor answers, Evan shows him the badge with the little camera. "Wow Evan, great job!" the Proffesor says, "Perhaps you should go on to Hydomin City, where you'll find the next gym. If you need to stay overnight at the Pokecenter, tell them to bill it to my lab. Good luck Evan." The professor ends the call. The boys walk up to Nurse Joy and relay the Proffesor's message. She hands them a key and directs them to the second floor. When they get to the room, they see it's just a tiny little room with two beds, a window, and a dining area with two chairs and a table. The boys take showers, do their laundry, and go to bed. Before he dozes off, Evan mentions something he had forgotten earlier. "Hey Jared." he says. Jared answers in a groggy tone. "Yeah Evan?" Evan sits up in bed. "Since we're going on a journey, we should buy camping supplies and extra clothes and stuff. So we don't have to stay at a Pokecenter every day." "Okay," Jared says, "We'll go shopping before we head out tomorrow. We can stop at my uncle's house and borrow some money." The boys go back to sleep, with their schedule for tomorrow prepared.

"Excellent, you're doing better than expected." she says, "Now, let's see you handle my Growlithe!" She tosses the Pokeball and a cute dog pops out and barks at Totodile. "Growlithe, use Quick Attack!" The Growlithe dashes at Totodile, who jumps back and looks for where it's going to come from. "Totodile, hop up and use Water Gun below you!" Totodile leaps into the air and blasts water downwards. The Growlithe dashes directly into the spray and hops back. "Okay then," Neimi says, "You asked for it now! Growlithe, Wild Charge!" Growlithe's body becomes covered in electricity as it rushes at Totodile. "Oh whoa!"Evan exclaims, "Totodile, use Aqua Tail!" Totodile's tail becomes a wave of water as he brings it back and swings it full force at the incoming Growlithe. The two Pokemon connect in a huge cloud of steam. After a few seconds, the steam clears and Totodile stands triumphantly over his opponent. "Whoohoo!" Evan shouts, "We did it!" Evan runs up to Totodile, who falls the floor paralyzed. "Hold on buddy." Evan says as he returns Totodile to his ball. Evan walks up to Neimi with a grin on his face. "I guess I won, huh?" She shakes her head in disbelief. "I suppose you did. Congratulations on your victory Evan, I reward you with the Burst Badge." She hands over a little badge, which Evan takes and shows to Jared. The badge is an orange circle with red spikes coming out of it. "Check it out Jared," he says to his friend, " I got my first badge!" Jared claps him on the back. "I knew you could do it, didn't doubt you for a second." The boys walk out of the gym and head back to the Pokecenter.

They show up at the Pokecenter and use the phone to call Professor Oak. When the Proffesor answers, Evan shows him the badge with the little camera. "Wow Evan, great job!" the Proffesor says, "Perhaps you should go on to Hydomin City, where you'll find the next gym. If you need to stay overnight at the Pokecenter, tell them to bill it to my lab. Good luck Evan." The professor ends the call. The boys walk up to Nurse Joy and relay the Proffesor's message. She hands them a key and directs them to the second floor. When they get to the room, they see it's just a tiny little room with two beds, a window, and a dining area with two chairs and a table. The boys take showers, do their laundry, and go to bed. Before he dozes off, Evan mentions something he had forgotten earlier. "Hey Jared." he says. Jared answers in a groggy tone. "Yeah Evan?" Evan sits up in bed. "Since we're going on a journey, we should buy camping supplies and extra clothes and stuff. So we don't have to stay at a Pokecenter every day." "Okay," Jared says, "We'll go shopping before we head out tomorrow. We can stop at my uncle's house and borrow some money." The boys go back to sleep, with their schedule for tomorrow prepared.

"Must've been a defected ball, huh Virizion?" Baykun said. He reached into the pant's pocket and pulled out another silver ball. "Aha! This is where you were hiding Tornadus! Now, come on out. Time for a new day!!" Baykun smiled excitedly. Tornadus appeared and looked really tired. It glared at Baykun and disappeared into it's pokeball. "Aww.. Fine, go back to sleep. This will be the one time where I'll let you get off with what you want." Baykun sounded like a parent. Baykun turned towards Virizion for some acknowledgement but Virizion was gone. All that was left was the silver pokeball on the floor. Baykun picked up the ball before calling for Virizion. He decided to lightly toss the pokeball in mid-air. "Virizion, come out." Baykun said sternly. Virizion appeared out of the ball and posed in a proud manner, looking down. "You were caught, Virizion.. Wow. That was an empty silver ball and I accidentally caught you. That.. is... AMAZING!!!!!!!!" Baykun screamed, ecstatic on what the situation is. Virizion nodded and smiled, hiding its shame inside. Tornadus was laughing inside of its silver ball and it could be heard by Baykun and Virizion. Virizion glared at the silver ball containing Tornadus and growled. Tornadus kept laughing at Virizion's embarrassment. Virizion grabbed the pokeball and walked out of Baykun's room and towards the stairs. It dropped the pokeball down the stairs, watching it bounce all the way down and crash into the wall. Baykun returned Virizion and descended down the stairs to pick up Tornadus's pokeball and walk into the kitchen.

There he sat down in front of a plate of bacon and pancakes. "Mmm... Bacon!!" Baykun said before eating. "It's funny how you can say bacon when your name is Baykun." His mom said. "It's not my fault my name is this, now is it?" Baykun said. "Ugh, whatever. Make sure you feed your pokemon as well. It's rude not to eat with the rest of your family. After breakfast, I want you to brush your teeth and get dressed. I packed a traveling bag for you. Also, stop by Professor Juniper's place please. I believe she has something to give you." Baykun's mom informed.

Baykun finished breakfast and went to do what his mom said upstairs. Virizion and Tornadus were eating in the living room watching TV that they never seen before. Mom smiled at the 2 and went to clean the dishes.

1 hour later ~~~~

"Hello Baykun. How are you today?" Professor Juniper asked him. "I'm fine." Baykun replied. "Well, I do have a gift for you Baykun. The first one is a pokedex. It will record all the monsters you see, the battles you won, and even figure out what is special about the pokemon you have caught. The second gift, is a starting pokemon. Today is a special day for you. Our 3 choices are : The fire type Cyndaquil, the water type Oshawott, and the grass type Treecko. Choose 1 of them for your journey." Professor Juniper concluded her list of gifts happily. "Umm.. Prof. I already have 2 pokemon." Baykun said timidly. "Huh? You have 2 pokemon already? Well who are they?" Prof. Juniper asked wondering. Baykun threw his 2 pokeballs out and Tornadus and Virizion appeared. "See? They were my 2 pokemon." Baykun said nonchalantly. "W-wow.. I'm.. I'm surprised. You have 2 of the Unova legendary pokemon without getting a starter or anything." Professor faked her amazement. She already knew he had 2 of them. She was the one that caught Tornadus and gave it to Baykun. She was the one who gave him an empty silver pokeball.

A young boy named Baykun who was 11 years old, was currently traveling through Outshine Forest. Outshine Forest was an area inhabited by grass, bug, and poison typed pokemon. Baykun had no pokemon unfortunately but, he was happy to take a walk every day exploring new areas, even the most dangerous ones where the pokemon are at high levels with amazing strength.

"Boy, the sun really does shine brightly here." said Baykun, looking up into the sky past the trees. He was standing on one of the highest branches of a 32ft tree. There were pokemon surrounding him and enjoyed the sunlight. The pokemon were butterfree, caterpie, sewaddle, weedle, wurmple, beautifly, and beedrill. They were all so kind and happy, living friendly with each other. There were no fights at all until pokemon trainers came. Baykun hoped that this forest would never be disrupted by outsiders. He always came to play with the pokemon and the pokemon always invited him.

"Hey guys. Where's Scyther?" Baykun asked the pokemon. They all looked exchanged worried looks and bowed their heads. "What happened? We have to go look for him!" he said aghast. Beedrill and Beautifly levitated in the air. Baykun sat on Beedrill and let it take him through the forest by flying. Beautifly followed behind, leaving the other pokemon there. They flew for 10 minutes until Beedrill and Beautifly started to descend into the forest. There was a crowd of pokemon gathering around an injured Scyther. When Baykun got closer, he studied the Scyther's wounds. Scyther's wing had been cut, making it not possible to fly. It's left leg has been broken so it wasn't able to walk either. Scyther also looked poisoned, as well was paralyzed.

"Who did this.. This is just.. horrible!" Baykun started to cry in fear. Beedrill understood Baykun's feelings and decided to show him what else has been happening throughout the forest. "Scyther, I'll come back with someone to help you. Don't worry! Just stay and sleep here until I get back, alright? Sewaddle, Butterfree, Bulbasaur, Meganium, and the others. Please do whatever you can to help Scyther. I'll go with Beedrill to find out who is doing this!" Bakyun ordered bravely. A Scizor and Grovyle walked in holding a few berries and knelt down next to Scyther. Bakyun saw another pokemon emerge but he didn't know who it was. The sun wasn't shining brightly in this area and he wondered why.

A Virizion and Suicune had appeared! Baykun looked at them amazed. The other pokemon dropped what they had and stepped back respectfully. Suicune studied Scyther's wounds and roared angrily. Suicune jumped and disappeared into the tree tops. Virizon watched as Suicune left into the forest. He saw Baykun and walked up to him, observing what he looked like. It knelt down to let Baykun on it's back. "Do.. Do you want me to get on?" Baykun asked, hiding his excitement. Virizon nodded and Baykun climbed on. Beedrill and Scizor started to float in the air, ready to follow Virizion. Virizion acknowledged them and started to lead the way. Beedrill and Scizor followed with the same speed as Virizion but Virizion was a little faster than them. They managed to keep up though. Tongue

"Wow! This is awesome! Virizion you're really cool!" Baykun yelled happily. Virizion smiled and kept moving forward. Baykun's eyes wondered off to the side into an opening where the sun's sunshine covered the area. There was also a lake and a - "Who is that? What's she doing? Virizion go to the lake!" Baykun saw a lady and wanted to talk to her. Virizion sighed but smiled and ran off into that area. Beedrill and Scizor were already heading there stealthily. Virizion jumped into the area, landing 5 ft away from the woman. The woman jumped up in shock and fell on her butt, dropping what she was studying. Virizion bowed to let Baykun off and to apologize to the woman. Baykun slid off of Virizion and also apologized. "It's fine, it's fine." The woman told them while fixing her hair. She picked up her work and stored them neatly into her bag. She stood up proudly and dusted her lab coat off.

"Hey wait.. I know you. You're-!" "Yes I'm Professor Juniper. Nice to see you again Baykun" Professor Juniper interrupted. She nodded respectfully at Virizion and continued. "Baykun I was just here studying a new pokemon by finding it's droppings and taking a sample. I don't know what it is yet because it keeps disappearing. Oh! I almost forgot. I just sent a gift to you and it's also an apology for missing your 10th birthday. I was in another region looking at more pokemon and I got so caught up into my work that I forgot about your birthday. I'm terribly sorry Baykun." Professor Juniper said. "It's okay Professor. I actually had a lot of fun here in the forest." Baykun said happily. Virizion nudged Baykun and flicked it's head in the other direction, indicating that it's time to go. Scizor has already went ahead while Beedrill stayed behind. "Ahh I'm sorry Virizion. I'm sorry Professor but we have to go! There's something in the forest and we have to find it. It terribly injured a Scyther and we have to go!" Baykun said urgently, climbing onto Virizon. "Wait Baykun! I'll come with you." Professor said, throwing a pokeball into the air. A Braviary emerged. It was a huge bird. Professor Juniper climbed on and followed Virizion. Beedrill sat on Braviary's back, tired from travel.

Few minutes later ~~~

Suicune was battling a Tornadus and Landorus! Thunderus was in the sky, watching the battle. Virizion appeared next to Suicune, ready to battle. It let Baykun off it's back and jumped into battle. Suicune used Hydro Pump on Landorus while Virizion used Sacred Sword on Tornadus. They both took direct hits and staggered back but that didn't stop them. Something has angered them but what? Professor Juniper jumped off of Braviary and let it battle as well. Virizion and Suicune told Braviary to back out unless Thunderus was willing to battle. Braviary nodded and flew up towards Thunderus. Thunderus was sleeping instead of watching the battle. Apparently, the battle was boring. Virizion and Suicune combined their attacks against Landorus and Tornadus. Landorus and Tornadus were floating close together, forming a strategy. Virizion sent a Solarbeam towards them while Suicune sent a Hyperbeam. The 2 beams merged with each other and took out Tornadus. Tornadus has fainted, leaving Landorus in battle. Landorus was behind them though. Landorus hugged Suicune and Virizion but then used Explosion on all of them. They all fell injured.

Scizor appeared behind Thunderus and used X-Scissor. Thunderus was moved forward but was still sleeping. Braviary used Brave Bird and crash landed into Thunderus. Thunderus woke up and descended in the air. Scizor appeared in front of Thunderus this time, using Iron Head and hit Thunderus in the face! Thunderus fell down next to the 4 injured pokemon. Scizor and Braviary acknowledged each other's strength. Thunderus flew back up, using Thunder Punch on Scizor. Scizor smiled but still took damage. Scizor used Iron Head again but Thunderus countered it using Smack Down! Scizor hit the ground hard and fainted. Braviary watched as Scizor was struck. Braviary used Giga Impact and crashed into Thunderus but.. Thunderus caught Braviary instead and used Thunder. Braviary has also fainted. Thunderus laughed and flew away with electricity surrounded it.

"Braviary, return! Now's my chance.. Dusknoir, come on out! Use Trick Room on Landorus and Tornadus!" Professor Juniper yelled. Dusknoir appeared and surrounded itself with Landorus and Tornadus, exchanging it's speed with both of theirs. Professor Juniper threw 2 silver pokeballs at Landorus and Tornadus. The pokeballs shook at the same time. They moved 4 times and completed it's capture. Baykun fainted from all the excitement.

Professor Juniper rewared Baykun a silver pokeball that contained Tornadus. She placed it into his pocket and went to help Scizor, Virizion, and Suicune.

10 minutes later ~~~~

Baykun woke up, seeing Virizion, Suicune, Beedrill, and Scizor. They were all laying next to him to keep him company. Virizion was resting it's head on Baykun's lap and Baykun smiled. Baykun then felt something in his pocket when Virizion stood up. "Huh? What's this??" Baykun questioned as he pulled out the silver pokeball from his pocket. "Whoa! When did I get this?" Baykun was bewildered. Virizion sniffed it and jumped back, alerting the others. Suicune, Scizor, and Beedrill stood back from the pokeball. "What's wrong guys?" Baykun asked. Virizion pointed it's hove at the pokeball. "Oh.. Let me see who it is. If it's in a pokeball, it won't harm you." Baykun said, throwing the pokeball. The ball opened, releasing a Tornadus into the area. Tornadus looked at Baykun and crossed it's arms. Then it looked at Virizion and Suicune. Tornadus growled and moved next to Baykun. "Whoa.. Are you.. Are you my pokemon Tornadus?" Baykun asked it. Tornadus grumbled and nodded. Virizion moved forward next to Baykun, staring at Tornadus. It growled at Tornadus, giving it a warning. Tornadus shook it's head and ignored Virizion afterwards.

Baykun looked at the 2 and smiled. "Return, Tornadus. We need to get home." Baykun said. He hugged Virizion, Suicune, Beedrill, and Scizor. They all enjoyed his company and went home.

Woow.. I met a lot of legendary pokemon today! Suicune, Virizion, Tornadus, Landorus, and Thunderus. Who knew that they would be out here?! It's so awesome! I even have a Tornadus.. My first pokemon. I guess he'll be my awesome partner. I kinda wish that Virizion joined me though. He's so awesome and strong! Now, to start my journey with Tornadus. Baykun thought to himself. Baykun walked home on the path way that lead out of the forest.

Almost home, Baykun stopped by his best friend's house, Cheekun. Cheekun was 11 years old as well. She was born the day after Baykun was. He walked up to her door and rang the bell. Cheekun opened the door and tackle-hugged Baykun. Baykun fell over, hugging her. They both got up and dusted themselves off.

"H-hey Cheekun. I wanna show you something before I go home." Baykun said. "Uh.. Okay Bay" Cheekun blushed. "Are you okay?" asked Baykun. "Y-yes! I am! Anyways what do you want to show me?" Cheekun answered quickly. Baykun threw the pokeball in the air and Tornadus appeared. Tornadus descended next to Baykun and looked at Cheekun who was about to faint. Tornadus caught her and set her down gently on the ground. Baykun laughed and walked away with Tornadus. Cheekun got up and waved. "OMG! You caught a Tornadus! That's so awesome. Wait.. How did you catch a Tornadus?" Cheekun asked excitedly. "Cheekun! Time for you to go to bed!" Cheekun's mom called. "Aww.. I'll see you tomorrow Baykun." Cheekun said.

Baykun waved and walked away with Tornadus behind him. A howl came when they were about to enter the house. Tornadus smirked and looked the way it and Baykun came from. A green flash flew past them and into the air. Baykun and Tornadus looked up and saw Virizion standing proudly on the roof of his house. Baykun smiled and Tornadus withdrew into its pokeball, annoyed by Virizion's dramatic appearance. Virizion growled at the pokeball and jumped down next to Baykun. "Hey Virizion! What are you doing here? Is Scyther okay?" Baykun asked. Scyther appeared next to Virizion and hugged Baykun. It was in perfect condition. Virizion smiled and nudged Baykun. It walked into Baykun's house and ran up into it's room silently and quickly. Baykun smiled and hugged Scyther. Scyther flew back home with Scizor. Scizor was with them too and was there to escort Scyther back home. Baykun then walked into the house and up to his room with another partner.

"Hey wait.. I know you. You're-!" "Yes I'm Professor Juniper. Nice to see you again Baykun" Professor Juniper interrupted. She nodded respectfully at Virizion and continued. "Baykun I was just here studying a new pokemon by finding it's droppings and taking a sample. I don't know what it is yet because it keeps disappearing. Oh! I almost forgot. I just sent a gift to you and it's also an apology for missing your 10th birthday. I was in another region looking at more pokemon and I got so caught up into my work that I forgot about your birthday. I'm terribly sorry Baykun." Professor Juniper said. "It's okay Professor. I actually had a lot of fun here in the forest." Baykun said happily. Virizion nudged Baykun and flicked it's head in the other direction, indicating that it's time to go. Scizor has already went ahead while Beedrill stayed behind. "Ahh I'm sorry Virizion. I'm sorry Professor but we have to go! There's something in the forest and we have to find it. It terribly injured a Scyther and we have to go!" Baykun said urgently, climbing onto Virizon. "Wait Baykun! I'll come with you." Professor said, throwing a pokeball into the air. A Braviary emerged. It was a huge bird. Professor Juniper climbed on and followed Virizion. Beedrill sat on Braviary's back, tired from travel.

Few minutes later ~~~

Suicune was battling a Tornadus and Landorus! Thunderus was in the sky, watching the battle. Virizion appeared next to Suicune, ready to battle. It let Baykun off it's back and jumped into battle. Suicune used Hydro Pump on Landorus while Virizion used Sacred Sword on Tornadus. They both took direct hits and staggered back but that didn't stop them. Something has angered them but what? Professor Juniper jumped off of Braviary and let it battle as well. Virizion and Suicune told Braviary to back out unless Thunderus was willing to battle. Braviary nodded and flew up towards Thunderus. Thunderus was sleeping instead of watching the battle. Apparently, the battle was boring. Virizion and Suicune combined their attacks against Landorus and Tornadus. Landorus and Tornadus were floating close together, forming a strategy. Virizion sent a Solarbeam towards them while Suicune sent a Hyperbeam. The 2 beams merged with each other and took out Tornadus. Tornadus has fainted, leaving Landorus in battle. Landorus was behind them though. Landorus hugged Suicune and Virizion but then used Explosion on all of them. They all fell injured.

Scizor appeared behind Thunderus and used X-Scissor. Thunderus was moved forward but was still sleeping. Braviary used Brave Bird and crash landed into Thunderus. Thunderus woke up and descended in the air. Scizor appeared in front of Thunderus this time, using Iron Head and hit Thunderus in the face! Thunderus fell down next to the 4 injured pokemon. Scizor and Braviary acknowledged each other's strength. Thunderus flew back up, using Thunder Punch on Scizor. Scizor smiled but still took damage. Scizor used Iron Head again but Thunderus countered it using Smack Down! Scizor hit the ground hard and fainted. Braviary watched as Scizor was struck. Braviary used Giga Impact and crashed into Thunderus but.. Thunderus caught Braviary instead and used Thunder. Braviary has also fainted. Thunderus laughed and flew away with electricity surrounded it.

"Braviary, return! Now's my chance.. Dusknoir, come on out! Use Trick Room on Landorus and Tornadus!" Professor Juniper yelled. Dusknoir appeared and surrounded itself with Landorus and Tornadus, exchanging it's speed with both of theirs. Professor Juniper threw 2 silver pokeballs at Landorus and Tornadus. The pokeballs shook at the same time. They moved 4 times and completed it's capture. Baykun fainted from all the excitement.

Professor Juniper rewared Baykun a silver pokeball that contained Tornadus. She placed it into his pocket and went to help Scizor, Virizion, and Suicune.

10 minutes later ~~~~

Baykun woke up, seeing Virizion, Suicune, Beedrill, and Scizor. They were all laying next to him to keep him company. Virizion was resting it's head on Baykun's lap and Baykun smiled. Baykun then felt something in his pocket when Virizion stood up. "Huh? What's this??" Baykun questioned as he pulled out the silver pokeball from his pocket. "Whoa! When did I get this?" Baykun was bewildered. Virizion sniffed it and jumped back, alerting the others. Suicune, Scizor, and Beedrill stood back from the pokeball. "What's wrong guys?" Baykun asked. Virizion pointed it's hove at the pokeball. "Oh.. Let me see who it is. If it's in a pokeball, it won't harm you." Baykun said, throwing the pokeball. The ball opened, releasing a Tornadus into the area. Tornadus looked at Baykun and crossed it's arms. Then it looked at Virizion and Suicune. Tornadus growled and moved next to Baykun. "Whoa.. Are you.. Are you my pokemon Tornadus?" Baykun asked it. Tornadus grumbled and nodded. Virizion moved forward next to Baykun, staring at Tornadus. It growled at Tornadus, giving it a warning. Tornadus shook it's head and ignored Virizion afterwards.

Baykun looked at the 2 and smiled. "Return, Tornadus. We need to get home." Baykun said. He hugged Virizion, Suicune, Beedrill, and Scizor. They all enjoyed his company and went home.

Woow.. I met a lot of legendary pokemon today! Suicune, Virizion, Tornadus, Landorus, and Thunderus. Who knew that they would be out here?! It's so awesome! I even have a Tornadus.. My first pokemon. I guess he'll be my awesome partner. I kinda wish that Virizion joined me though. He's so awesome and strong! Now, to start my journey with Tornadus. Baykun thought to himself. Baykun walked home on the path way that lead out of the forest.

Almost home, Baykun stopped by his best friend's house, Cheekun. Cheekun was 11 years old as well. She was born the day after Baykun was. He walked up to her door and rang the bell. Cheekun opened the door and tackle-hugged Baykun. Baykun fell over, hugging her. They both got up and dusted themselves off.

"H-hey Cheekun. I wanna show you something before I go home." Baykun said. "Uh.. Okay Bay" Cheekun blushed. "Are you okay?" asked Baykun. "Y-yes! I am! Anyways what do you want to show me?" Cheekun answered quickly. Baykun threw the pokeball in the air and Tornadus appeared. Tornadus descended next to Baykun and looked at Cheekun who was about to faint. Tornadus caught her and set her down gently on the ground. Baykun laughed and walked away with Tornadus. Cheekun got up and waved. "OMG! You caught a Tornadus! That's so awesome. Wait.. How did you catch a Tornadus?" Cheekun asked excitedly. "Cheekun! Time for you to go to bed!" Cheekun's mom called. "Aww.. I'll see you tomorrow Baykun." Cheekun said.

Baykun waved and walked away with Tornadus behind him. A howl came when they were about to enter the house. Tornadus smirked and looked the way it and Baykun came from. A green flash flew past them and into the air. Baykun and Tornadus looked up and saw Virizion standing proudly on the roof of his house. Baykun smiled and Tornadus withdrew into its pokeball, annoyed by Virizion's dramatic appearance. Virizion growled at the pokeball and jumped down next to Baykun. "Hey Virizion! What are you doing here? Is Scyther okay?" Baykun asked. Scyther appeared next to Virizion and hugged Baykun. It was in perfect condition. Virizion smiled and nudged Baykun. It walked into Baykun's house and ran up into it's room silently and quickly. Baykun smiled and hugged Scyther. Scyther flew back home with Scizor. Scizor was with them too and was there to escort Scyther back home. Baykun then walked into the house and up to his room with another partner.

Chapter Two: Stampedes, Beedrills, and Poliwraths!
(Part 2)

After the incident with the Tauros, Evan was rather tired of all the excitement. He decided he'd rather go on a peaceful walk through the Sera Woods. After he and Totodile pack up some extra snacks and water, they head out. Evan's favorite place to go was the forest. It was so peaceful and quiet, he felt completely alone with nature. He would sit out there for hours, pretending he was a trainer. Now he actually got to go down the Pokemon trails. As he and Totodile were admiring the beauty of the forest, they heard slashing and buzzing overhead. Evan looked up and saw a Scyther slash it's way through the branches. He watched it as it flew through the trees, with a huge swarm of Beedrills right behind it! The Beedrills were launching thousands of poison needles at Scyther, who was avoiding most, but still getting hit. One of the Beedrills catches up to Scyther and hits it with Twineedle. Evan had to stop them. "Totodile, use water gun and get rid of them!" Totodile nods and starts blasting the swarm. After a few minutes, the Beedrills finally decide to leave. Evan runs over to the Scyther, who's lying on the ground, badly poisoned. "Oh no," Evan says, "I wish I had a full restore...Hold on Scyther, I have to find a way to get you healed.

Evan runs off into the forest, looking for berries. He finds some Sitrus berries growing, so he takes some of those. "Those will heal it...now to help with the poison...what berry heals poison?" he pulls out his Pokemon handbook from his back pocket. He turns to the berry page. "Okay, Pecha berries..." He looks at the picture and starts looking around. He spots some growing on a branch above his head. "Oh man..." he thinks. He spies a stick long enough to reach at the base of the tree. He picks it up and takes a whack at the branch. The berry falls off it's stem and comes down. Evan catches it and runs back to where Scyther and Totodile are.

When Evan gets back, he sees that Totodile had gotten a large leaf and put some water in it for Scyther. The Scyther was lying on it's back, breathing heavily. Evan crouches down beside it. "Here Scyther," he says as he puts the Pecha in it's mouth. "Eat this, it will help you." Scyther slowly chews the Pecha berry. After a few minutes it manages to sit up and take the Sitrus berries. It gets up and gets into a fighting stance. "Oh, so you're fighting ready, huh?" Evan says, "Come on Totodile, get ready." Totodile run over to Evan, eager to battle.

Once they were ready, Evan released the first attack. "Go Totodile, use scratch!" Totodile jumped at Scyther and swung his claws. Scyther was too quick for that, it jumped up into the air and brought one of it's blades down on Totodile's head. "Oh no!" Evan said. "Come on buddy, get him with your bite!" Totodile got up and jumped again, this time aiming for Scyther's wing. Scyther saw this and turned quickly, with Totodile flying past. Scyther swung back around and hit Totodile again with a hard cut. Totodile fell to the ground, dazed and unable to fight. "Totodile!" Evan shouted, "Here buddy, have a nice rest." He returned Totodile to his ball. Evan pulled out Pidgey's ball. "Come on Pidgey, please do this for me. Come on out Pidgey, use Gust!" Evan tossed the ball and Pidgey flew out. Pidgey saw Scyther coming and dodged it. He used Gust and pushed Scyther into a tree. Scyther hit a tree branch and grabbed on. It swung up on the branch, faced Pidgey and gave a shout. It flew towards Pidgey, scythes at the ready. "Pidgey, avoid it and hit it with Peck!" Pidgey flew out of Scyther's way and came back at it. Pidgey's beak connected several times with Scyther, bringing it down to the ground. Scyther swung at Pidgey, who easily jumped over the scythe and sent up some dust. While Scyther tried to clear the sand in it's face, Pidgey charged up a Steel Wing and slammed into Scyther. Scyther went down and Evan saw his opportunity. "Whoa Pidgey, was that Steel Wing? Awesome! Now I'll catch it!" Evan took a Pokeball and tossed it at Scyther. The ball shook 3 times in quick intervals, then locked into place. "Hahah, yeah!" Evan said excitedly, "I gotta Scyther!" He picked up the ball and put it in his carrying case. "Come on Pidgey, we gotta go heal up." He returned Pidgey to his ball and ran back to the lab.

Once he got to the lab, Evan gladly showed off his new team. "Well Evan," Professor Oak said after taking the Pokeballs out of the healing machine. "It looks like you're getting along quite nicely. I think you're ready to try out the first gym. It's located in Cyrem City. The leader's name is Neimi, and she's quite fond of the fire type. Her team consists of Charmander, Growlithe, and a Koffing. I have here a ticket that will get you across the river to get to Cyrem City." He hands Evan a ticket. "Now you might want some supplies before challenging Neimi, so here's three thousand PokeDollars, you should stop off at the mart in Cyrem and buy some potions. Now off you go." The Professor follows Evan to the dock and waves him farewell as the ferry takes off from the dock.

Once on the ferry Evan is greeted by a boy who looks about 13 with short blonde hair. "Hey there," the boy says, "I can't help but notice those Pokeballs, so you're a trainer too? By the way, I'm Jared." The boy sticks out his hand. Evan shakes it slowly and slightly confused. "Um, hello..." Evan says, "I'm Evan. So you're a trainer? Are you gonna do the gym challenge too?" Jared says, "Pleasure to meet you Evan, and no I'm not doing the gym challenge. Me, Treeko, and Starly are competing in the contests, we've been practicing our moves alot!" Evan pulls out his Pokeballs. "Well me, Totodile, Pidgey, and Scyther are gonna do the gym challenge and try and catch all the Pokemon." "Wow," Jared says, "You have a Totodile? Can I see?" As Evan starts to send out Totodile, a whistle goes off and the boat comes to a halt. "What's going on?" Evan asks. "I don't know," Jared replies, "Let's go find out!" The boys run towards the front of the deck.

The front of the deck was total chaos. People and their Pokemon were running every whichway. Evan sees the captain at the front and walks up to him. "Excuse me," he says to the old man, "What's going on with everyone?" The captain sighs and shakes his head. "I'm sorry boys," he says, "I'm afraid we won't get moving till we get rid of this Poliwrath. It's been wreaking havoc all along the river, just attacking boats, taking food and other things from everyone. It's a menace, if only we had strong trainers, most of our passengers are just Pokemon fans." Evan and Jared look at each other. "We're trainers!" they say together, "We can help!" The captain smiles, "Ho ho ho," he laughs, "Thanks for the offer boys, but I'm afraid you might not be enough for it." Evan gets a determined look on his face. "Well, we have to try!" The captain points them towards the water. "Be my guest then."The boys nod and take a rowboat into the water.

Once in the water, they spot the Poliwrath floating on it's back a few yards in front of the boat. It sees them and sits up. It punches it's fists in their direction, challenging them. "Ready Jared?" Evan asks. Jared nods. "Okay then," Evan says, "Come on out Scyther!" he tosses his Pokeball out. "Let's do this Starly!" Jared shouts as he throws his. Starly and Scyther pop out and fly above the water. "Scyther," Evan says, "Go hit that thing with Fury Cutter!" Scyther flies off towards Poliwrath. "Starly, go get it with your Wing Attack!" Jared says as Starly follows Scyther. The two pokemon get to Poliwrath and start to attack. Poliwrath begins swinging it's fists wildy, knocking them away. It dives underwater while Scyther and Starly fly up higher. "Where'd it go?" Evan asks. "I don't see it." Jared says. Suddenly, the Poliwrath bursts out of the water towards Starly. Scyther quickly intercepts it and hits it with Fury Cutter. It falls into the water and swims away, not wanting to fight. "Yeah!" Jared shouts, "We did it Evan!" The boys return their Pokemon to their balls and get back on the boat.

"Thank you boys," the captain says, "You saved our boat from a terrible fate. When we get to Cyrem City, I'll treat you boys to lunch." The captain pats them both on the shoulder. "Awesome!" Jared says, "I could go for a free meal." The captain laughs and walks off. The boys sit down with their Pokemon. "You did great Evan," Jared says, "You'll definitely beat Neimi." Evan smiles, "You think so?" Jared nods, "I know so." The boys take out their Pokemon and relax a bit. Jared marvels over Totodile. "So this is Totodile, huh?" he asks. "Yup." Evan says. Jared picks Totodile up and rubs his snout. "He sure is a cute little guy." Totodile hops out of Jared's hands, curls up on Evan, and goes to sleep. "Yeah, he is." Evan says, "I hope we can take Neimi's team. Totodile's my only Pokemon that could take down her fire types." Jared pets Totodile. "Well, maybe we could find another water type or something in Cyrem." Evan looks towards Cyrem City, where the sun is shining off the tops of buildings. "Maybe." he says.

Once in the water, they spot the Poliwrath floating on it's back a few yards in front of the boat. It sees them and sits up. It punches it's fists in their direction, challenging them. "Ready Jared?" Evan asks. Jared nods. "Okay then," Evan says, "Come on out Scyther!" he tosses his Pokeball out. "Let's do this Starly!" Jared shouts as he throws his. Starly and Scyther pop out and fly above the water. "Scyther," Evan says, "Go hit that thing with Fury Cutter!" Scyther flies off towards Poliwrath. "Starly, go get it with your Wing Attack!" Jared says as Starly follows Scyther. The two pokemon get to Poliwrath and start to attack. Poliwrath begins swinging it's fists wildy, knocking them away. It dives underwater while Scyther and Starly fly up higher. "Where'd it go?" Evan asks. "I don't see it." Jared says. Suddenly, the Poliwrath bursts out of the water towards Starly. Scyther quickly intercepts it and hits it with Fury Cutter. It falls into the water and swims away, not wanting to fight. "Yeah!" Jared shouts, "We did it Evan!" The boys return their Pokemon to their balls and get back on the boat.

"Thank you boys," the captain says, "You saved our boat from a terrible fate. When we get to Cyrem City, I'll treat you boys to lunch." The captain pats them both on the shoulder. "Awesome!" Jared says, "I could go for a free meal." The captain laughs and walks off. The boys sit down with their Pokemon. "You did great Evan," Jared says, "You'll definitely beat Neimi." Evan smiles, "You think so?" Jared nods, "I know so." The boys take out their Pokemon and relax a bit. Jared marvels over Totodile. "So this is Totodile, huh?" he asks. "Yup." Evan says. Jared picks Totodile up and rubs his snout. "He sure is a cute little guy." Totodile hops out of Jared's hands, curls up on Evan, and goes to sleep. "Yeah, he is." Evan says, "I hope we can take Neimi's team. Totodile's my only Pokemon that could take down her fire types." Jared pets Totodile. "Well, maybe we could find another water type or something in Cyrem." Evan looks towards Cyrem City, where the sun is shining off the tops of buildings. "Maybe." he says.

Chapter One: Stampedes, Beedrills, and Poliwraths!


Evan Grey, 15 year old boy, Pokemon fanatic, awful comedian. Evan has loved Pokemon since he was a young child. He's played all the games, collected all the cards, watched all the movies, and owns all the merchandise. The thing he's always wished for though, was his own Pokemon. Today, on his 15th birthday, his wish comes in the form of a birthday gift.

Evan woke up the morning of his 15th birthday for a big surprise. After showering, getting dressed, and brushing his teeth, he walked into his room to check his PokeMail. As he sat down in front of his computer to check his messages, he saw a small box, about as big as his fist, on his desk. He picked up the card on top and read it.

Dear Evan,

You're probably wondering what this might be. Well, you told me there's something you've always wanted, so I pulled some strings and managed to get one for you. After you get introduced, come to my lab. Happy Birthday!

Evan was slightly confused about what this meant. Introduced to what? he thinks. He picks up the box and examines it. It seemed like a normal box, wrapped in yellow paper with Pokeballs on it. He ripped the paper off and opens it up, getting the surprise of his life.

Evan pulls out a custom gold Pokeball, with his initials carved onto it. He grows excited. I wonder what it is. He remembers how they send out Pokemon in the movies. "Come on out, my new Pokemon!" he says as he tosses the ball on his carpet. The ball pops open and out jumps a Totodile, smiling and happy. Evan looks on in amazement, "Whoohoo!" he shouts, "I have my very own Totodile!" Totodile hops up on his bed and jumps around, glad to be out of his Pokeball. "Come on Totodile let's go see mom!" Evan and Totodile rush down the stairs. On his way down, Evan trips and falls down the staircase, tumbling down 12 steps to the carpet below. "Owww..." he groans, "Let's walk down next time..." Totodile hops down the stairs two at a time, landing neatly between Evan's feet. Evan gets up and rubs his funnybone, which he whacked on the way down. "Nothing funny about it..." he mumbles.

Evan strolls into the kitchen with Totodile at his heels. "Hey mom." he says nonchalantly. "Good morning sweetie," she says without even turning away from her cooking, "and happy birthday. The Professor came over earlier with your present, he put it on your desk." Evan looks at Totodile and smiles, "I know," he says, "I got it." she finishes making the pancakes and puts them on a plate. She turns around to set them on the table. "So, what did he get...OH MY GOODNESS, WHAT'S THAT!?" she says in a shrill voice. Evan picks up Totodile and holds him up for his mother. "This is my new Totodile that the Professor got me." Evan's mother looks at Totodile cautiously, "Is it...dangerous?" she asks. Evan takes his hand and rubs Totodile on his snout, "Not a bit. Just don't use a single finger to pet, I guess Totodile will think it's food." Evan's mother reaches out very slowly, she places her hand on Totodile's snout and rubs. Totodile closes his eyes and lets her pet him. "So he's not dangerous," Evan's mother says, "But I'm still cautious about those teeth, so when you feed him, set the food down and let him eat it." Evan hugs Totodile, "Yay," he says, "You and I are gonna be best friends, buddy!" Evan sits down and eats some pancakes, when his mother offers him some bacon, he sets the plate on the floor and lets Totodile eat it.

After Breakfast, Evan and Totodile head over to the Professor's lab. When he walks in, Evan sees that the Professor is working on a new Pokeball, one that's purple with an M on it. "Hey Professor," he says, "What's that?" Professor Oak turns and looks at Evan. "Happy birthday, Evan." he says, "I see you already got your gift. Quite the fine specimen that one is. Now, as to what I'm working on. It's nothing important, right now. But I do have another gift for you." He turns around and rummages through his desk. "Another gift!" Evan says in surprise, "This birthday's turning out to be awesome!" The Professor finally gets out what he was looking for. "Here Evan," he says as he hands him a few things, "Take these Pokeballs and this Pokemon Index, or Pokedex for short. My dream was to become an amazing Pokemon trainer, but now I'm too old to do it. So I want you to go out and do it for me. Go to Grado Plains, just north of here, and catch a few Pokemon. Once you're done with that, come see me. Now, you better get going!" The Professor pushes Evan out the door and closes it behind him.

Evan is walking around Grado Plains, looking for Pokemon. He sees a small pond with some bushes and a tree. "That looks like a good place to look!" he says to Totodile, "Let's go!" They make their way over and begin searching. Evan looks into the pond and sees that the water is muddy and hard to see in. "Well, There might be Pokemon in there, but I don't have a pole. Evan turns around and hears some chirping sounds from above. He looks into the tree and sees a group of Pidgeys. "Totodile, look!" he says, "Let's try and get one. Use Water Gun!" Totodile runs up under the tree and blasts it with water. Most of the Pidgey get out of the way, but one gets hit dead on. Evan rushes over. "Good job buddy!" he says, "Now, go Pokeball!" he tosses a ball at the fainted Pidgey. It shakes once...twice...three times...and clicks closed! Evan picks the ball up and grins. "I caught a Pidgey!" he says. He checks the Pokedex for what moves it might know. "Since it's a weaker Pidgey, it only knows Peck, Gust, and Sand Attack. Let's go train!" Evan and Totodile walk off to find something to battle.

They spot a Weedle making it's way through some grass. "Perfect," Evan says, "Bugs are weak to Flying, this will be easy! Come on out Pidgey!" he tosses the Pokeball and Pidgey pops out. "Pidgey, use gust on that Weedle." Pidgey looks at Evan and turns it's head. It begins walking off in a different direction. "Pidgey!" he says, "Where are you going!" Evan follows Pidgey.

Evan and Totodile end up at a popular Tauros feeding area, and they see where Pidgey went. Pidgey is sitting on a sleeping Tauros' head. "Oh no," Evan whispers, "Come on Totodile, let's get Pidgey, and be quiet." They slowly make their way towards Pidgey. Just as they're about to get there, Totodile trips on a Tauros' tail and bumps into it. The Tauros wakes up and snorts loudly. The Tauros that Pidgey was on wakes up as well, and looks angry. "RUN!" Evan shouts as he picks up Totodile. They run towards Renaville, with a stampede of Tauros right behind them. Evan turns back and sees that Pidgey is pecking at the Tauros' face. It whips it's head side to side, hitting the other Tauros. Pretty soon, all the Tauros are headbutting and body slamming each other. Pidgey flies away from the fight and follows Evan.
They finally show up in Renaville, and go sit in the park. "Pidgey," Evan says, "How am I supposed to train you if you don't listen?" Pidgey looks up from a worm that its pulling from the ground. It quickly swallows it and rubs against Evan's leg. "Are we friends then?" he reaches down to pick him up. Pidgey takes this opportunity to bite his finger. "OW!" he shouts. He pulls out Pidgey's Pokeball. "Return!" he says. After putting away the Pokeball, Evan sighs and rubs Totodile. "Maybe we should try again later, for now, I'm hungry." Evan and Totodile walk back home for lunch, ready to continue their adventure later.
