Hey everyone, I don't think many people are aware of this but there is a section of this forum dedicated to debating called "Debate Hall". However in order to join this exclusive section requires being inducted into the debators. To be inducted you must prove you can debate thoughtfully.

So this thread is to inform everyone that such an area exists and to see if this is something anyone is interested in.

Topics have included:
- People and Technology - is today's society more dependent on technology than in the past?
- The Use of Profanity - What makes the words so inappropriate?
- Bullying
- Piracy - Should actions be taken?

The dh has a few different rules concerning topics, but take any topic you want.l

I don't care to join a debate hall, but I'd love to debate that there is nothing wrong with profanity. I think it's a colorful and creative way to express your emotions.

Take it up with cef. I would love to expand the language barriers in chat

I think you could have fun in the debate hall there Alduin. It's a place to argue with people essentially. Besides, you can offer up topics as well and see what other people's opinions are on them.

I can debate, but it depends on what I'm debating on... So I guess I can try it out...

Even though I am doing this in college, I do not think I would be very good at it.  I tend to look at things from as many sides and different angles as I can, before I make a decision... I can even argue against my own points... >.<

How about whether or not bratwurst are "fancy hot dogs" (even though hot dogs are quite different for each country) ?

Or whether or not it is okay or wrong to refer to the monsters in this game as Pokemon? That certainly opened up quite a debate in chat yesterday!!

Maybe the news today. Do you think they just tell us want our governments want us to hear or whether media is, in fact, impartial?
