EDIT: I may have made a mistake. I've been walking through other grass that is near the waters edge in other maps to check and all the grass that is right beside the water seems to have the same effect. Judging by that I'm guessing this is intended. You may as well delete this thread.

So I was running back and forth through a patch of grass and hadn't seen any monsters so I figured my browser was lagging so I attempted to walk on the water and had no problem with that. So I went back and noticed that this section of grass doesn't have the message "No wild monster appeared! Continue searching"

did you have any repels on you?

No I did not.

Those surface type are water shore and are intended for fishing . . .
