When my Jekyllight was relearning its moves, the move Light Armor popped up. When I read the description, it said "this move increases the user's special defense stat by 1 stage and will not work once 5 stages are gained or if the user's speed stat is 2000.
Notice that special defense has nothing to do with speed in this case.
