Iris. Fortunately, I have an opinion unsoiled by the Pokémon anime. I've heard of people who don't like Iris because of her anime portrayal, so I'll stick with her game self. Also, her battle theme is really catchy.

also i am sorry but i am not familiar with anything past red/blue, slightly played silver, so what about erika, sabrina, giovianni, oak? you know oak was one crazy trainer back in the day, he had a charmander, bulbasaur, squirtle, and pikachu, where do you think he got those
