The concept artist, Alpcemos, specifically said it was a tiger. Besides, species names don't have to have good grammar. If they did, it would massively restrict creativity. I mean, Gligar is the FlyScorpion Pokemon. "FlyScorpion" isn't good grammar, and yet the big shots at Game Freak and Nintendo said it was acceptable. Why can't it be acceptable for us?
