There was this one epic manga that Tite Kubo made.. I forgot the main character but he was working on it before Bleach.
It was kinda better than Bleach <_< The main character had the same attitude of Ichigo and Grimmjow combined

Gotta say my favorite is Ash Ketchum from the Early Hoenn Period. or very late Jhoto period.
