how do you use a signature on your post

I really want to know how you use a signature on your post cause at the moment i have just been sending a post pasting the signature on another post and sending that so that the second post joins on to the first post but i am not convinced that is how you use a signature so could somone please tell me how to use a signature?

save your signature and apply to all posts
